As reported by Gleff here: American Website Now Supports Booking Qantas Award Space
availability is terrible
We've already got quite a lengthy thread started yesterday by the man who broke the news here: LINK.
Depends on what you're looking for. QF premium cabin space US-OZ has always been pretty difficult to get. If you're looking for domestic OZ awards or premium cabins space between Asia-OZ the availability gets better.
A day late and ... didn't find it before posting! Please feel free to merge!
His was, at best, the third of the BoardingArea blogs reporting it. And that was roughly 24+ hours after discussions started here.
Oh, and the very first line of his post was a link to the other thread here.
And of course (and as usual), the Wandering Aramean reported on this here: http://boardingarea.com/blogs/thewanderingaramean/2012/06/american-airlines-adds-qantas-as-an-online-award-redemption-partner/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+boardingarea%2Fthewanderingaramean+%28The+Wandering+Aramean%29
Very cool news. Not surprised AA is not promoting this on their homepage and I look forward to seeing if they will add another partner soon.
I found that a little strange myself-- the the OP of this thread didn't see/realize that.
He sure didn't click at every heperlink in the post ... nice kufiya there, Jon!
You know I'm just doing a little ball... bursting But, c'mon-- "via Milepoint" is how it begins! Not a big deal in the least, needless to say-- just having fun. Although I do think discussion of the actual topic should be contained to one thread, personally.
In typical AA fashion, you'll probably see an email on this week from AAdvantage this week.

Since MP has no mods, the only person who can merge a thread would be an Admin. The OP would need to request the merge by clicking on the "Report" button on the bottom of this post and send the request that way. I do wish there was an easier way to merge threads, we get double posts a lot and unlike other forums it's a bit of a chore to get all the information aggregated in a single location.
