On 30 October 2011 the rail operator Thalys introduced the first non-stop rail service between Paris and Brussels Zaventem International Airport.

Rail services from the airport have been available since 2003, with four trains an hour making connections with Thalys and Intercity Brussels services at Brussels North. The new service is for now available only once a day in the morning, but it is the first step in introducing direct rail services between the airport and important European cities.
