    Hi guys,
First post on MP! And I need some sagely advice on FOP’s. I am Planning to fly JAL executive YVR-NRT-FUK and am trying to work out what FOP’s will be earned on the domestic segment?

Will it be treated as a normal domestic segment: FOP = mileage x class x 2 + 400? Class being the class booked - execurive?

Lastly, would it make a difference if I choose JL3057 (economy only - operated by JAL express) ex NRT or JL327 ex HND were I can fly J? My thinking is that its not worth the grief transferring NRT - HND except for a matter of FOP’s.

    Thanks.

    Hey! Welcome! [IMG]

I expect JALPak or one of the other resident experts will have a good answer for ya'. I'm guessing the NRT_HND transfer won't be worth it, but it would depend on your current / planned FOP count.

...as well as your FOP goals.

(Sorry, had trouble editing my previous post.)

    Thanks!

well the vancouver trip should put me about 2700 short of 50000, so I thought I would route my return via FUK to pick up the extra needed to make 50000. well thats the plan anyway [IMG]

Since JALPak is probably sleeping let me do the calculations for you.

    YVR-NRT 4681 x 1.25 (C ticket) + 400 = 6251 FOP
    NRT/HND-FUK 567 x 2 (double for domestic) + 400 = 1534 FOP
    If you fly Class J NRT/HND-FUK 567 x 2 x 1.1 + 400 = 1647 FOP

If you don't mind doing a small Mileage Run. Just do a simple FUK-OKA-FUK, FUK-CTS-FUK, FUK-HND-FUK. All these would put you over 2900 FOP.
Just buy a Yokoso Japan Fare cost is about 21000yen roundtrip :)

So yes, there will be a difference.

    HND-FUK in J = 567 * 110% * 2 + 400
    NRT-FUK in Y = 567 * 100% * 2 + 400

The longest domestic sector is HND-ISG at 1228 one way. Just take that into consideration if you need FOP's

Is OP transiting or just adding the FUK leg?

yes you are on transit. If you miss the domestic portion the rest of your ticket becomes invalid

So your ticket is YVR-NRT-XXX and you are just doing a stopover in NRT and planning to buy a Yokoso to fly TYO-FUK? Why not spend the money on TYO-OKA instead?

The yokoso will be to return to narita for departure.
I considered OKA also but I was there in January, and then there is the ramen in FUK! [IMG]
Adding FUK return should just get me past 50k this trip.

Island hopping and yokoso is the invalid combination that got them confused
