|| A Marriott Hotel Missteps With Mini Muffins on 9-11 ||
The properties "thoughts" may have been in the correct place, but the verbiage is wrong.
I'm guess this is an attempt, of this property, to pay respect to fellow team members who died in/at the Marriott World Trade Center property.
This hotel was not rebuilt as Marriott and the Port Authority agreed to cede the property which was damaged and closed due to the '93 bombing then, destroyed in 2001.
Definitely the dumbest thing I've seen.
An offering for a small gathering for a minute's silence and a prayer (with complimentary refreshments supplied) would be more appropriate IMO.
Of course, the larger irony would be the size of the lines for the said mini muffins and coffee given the short window of generosity. Obviously all of those people are there for the food, not the remembrance.
