This sign is posted on the executive floor of the Hilton Munich City:

I wish more hotels would post this kind of reminder. I know it won't stop all hallway noise, but it might just help.

I agree, just sort of sad that people don't think of this on their own (and I can attest that they don't).
What really bothers me is when I am being accompanied to room by hotel staff at an early hour and they talk loudly in the hall while I answer in a very low voice.

The problem is, the people who will pay attention to the sign aren't going to need to be told to be quiet. The people who it's directed at will just ignore it and/or laugh at it. :(:rolleyes:

Exactly. What they need is automatic noise-activated pepper sprayers in the walls at eye level.

To say that is genius, is an understatement. Please consider this my approval and move forward with this project. :D

The Crowne Plaza Knoxville has a similar sign on the executive floor; they also guarantee no cleaning staff will be vacuuming or such during the posted hours.

Sadly, this would result in more hallway noise for already sleeping guests.

But I'd accept the noise triggered by the pepper spray :)

Agree with most on here that the signs won't help.

Not sure the following does either, but it makes me feel better, and I admit resorting to it well more than once. Specifically, if the hall noise is repeatedly in-and-out of the same partying room, or the door to that room pried open, etc., make a note of the room number. Then, the following morning, well before dawn, when one is en route back to the airport for an early appointment with the T.S.A. preceding a 0630 departure, dial the room number - ideally from a direct-dial phone in the lobby as one departs - wait for an answer, then say "Good Morning, it's 4 a.m."

I think the signs help-- maybe not a lot, but it's better than nothing.

    Bravo to that idea!

    Ha, love that.

Has anyone here ever seen "Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade?" Do you remember that scene towards the end, where one of the bad guys was going into the pathway to find the Holy Grail, and an axe swung out and cut off his head? :D
