Hello, all. I have searched a dozen sites and forums and cannot find a clear answer to my problem. I am trying to book *A award travel to Europe in 2013 using Dividend Miles. I found considerable availability in business class using Aeroplan, United, and Expertflyer websites. When I called US yesterday the agent said basically no flights were open to me. I then gave her specific flight numbers, as recommended by many forums, and the majority of these she said were not for US members. She further limited my dates of travel due to blackout dates. I was under the impression that US blackout dates did not apply to *A carriers. So, was this agent just an idiot or are all these "available" awards on AP, UA, and EF just phantom awards? Does US really apply blackout dates for *A carriers? Many thanks!
