So true! And they call! :) I firmly believe that the main reason that I was able to get my pair at a local Radio Shack B&M was because I didn't call them before arriving. The store manager did not know yet that the price had dropped.

However, I managed one because I did call ;) .....thanks to a certain someone's advice. I think I need to also send Rio a Starbucks card and a thank you note!

    This is great news!
    This is not great news.

So far no notice of cancellation for me. I think I am going to check my credit card.
Edit: Nope. Not on the credit card yet.

    Now checking online spam folder.
Update: Nothing there either. Maybe I'm at least in the CDW coin toss :D

I ordered from B&N last night (one unit, not trying to resell etc) and got a cancellation today, due to "out of stock". Quite frankly, it's utterly ridiculous for them to take orders for products they don't have in stock.

As I am currently on vacation in Kauai, I am not going to spend a ton of time trying to keep up with what online seller may be next in line for a melt-down. I suspect a lot of the units sold this weekend will end up on eBay.

Especially since all the had to do is just a few minutes of research in advance to see what the demand was

I should get at least one of mine

DataVision NYC All should ship by the end of the week. NO orders will be canceled due to being out of stock. @Heather, pass it on. We appreciate your patience, and all buyer will be emailed.

They are still showing at Sam's Club - particularly my local and online (16GB only - low stock), but I don't know how that works if I were to buy a membership tonight, could I buy it tonight online?

If anyone ordered multiples and ended up with more than you need, I'd be willing to take and extra off of your hands, 32G preferred, but 16G is OK :)

Woot! I got at least one :) My arrangement with the staff at Comet on Sunday worked brilliantly this Tuesday morning and I have one in my English-summer-chilled hands!

There may also be another on the way from Amazon.co.uk...if they get stock.

Got a Demo from a Radio Shack on Sun [prior to HP allowing them to be activated - hacked it anyways ;)] and have one on order from HP small business. One will be used as a webOS device and the other hacked and ported to Android and soon as that is viable
    http://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php?t=3327

The touchpad seems like a decent device. Google search for patches and tricks to make it faster and to customize. see eg homebrew

You hacked a demo unit? Can you give me some details? So far, I've still been unable to create a webOS account from mine. Private conversation would be fine.

If anyone here ends up with more units than they need, I'd be happy to buy one with reasonable margin to compensate for the hassle that TP shopping turned into this weekend. 32gb preferred, but I'd also take 16.

Just been told by Amazon.co.uk that my second Touchpad isn't coming. Sigh. Still, happy with the one I got. More annoyed that one of their affiliates just told me that they were cancelling my order for a cover for the Touchpad due to having no stock - three hours after they emailed to say the cover had been dispatched by courier:rolleyes:

So, back to Tesco for the cover. Pay Tesco with the Gold Amex through the BA portal: that's 8 miles earned per £ :)

hp.com now says "Coming soon" rather than "Out of stock."

bestbuy.com has HP TouchPad accessories on sale:
    TouchPad case $24.99
    Touchstone charging dock $39.99
    Wireless keyboard $34.99

Buy 3+ accessories (not limited to the above accessories) to save 15% - 20%.

Some items are available in stores.

The Touchstone charging dock is still close to $90 in Australia, almost the same price as the touchpad was.:(

Those are great prices. BestBuy.co.uk has nothing HP Touchpad related on their site at all anymore.

In the UK, those prices are:
    TouchPad case £39.97
    Touchstone charging dock £69.97
    Wireless keyboard £26.45

hp.com has also dropped the prices on the accessories to just $5 more each than bestbuy.com's but with the possibility of free shipping. Some of the bestbuy.com accessories are now sold out online.

First, HP has apparently lifted the demo boycott so try again. If not, or if you can't figure out how to reflash to a stock OS rather than the demo, check out the link

    http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1229254

And after getting your touchpad up and running, visit precentral as I noted above. The apps and patches definately make a difference

    PM as needed for help

    Cheers -

FYI: It is a simple process. Even more so that flashing a Nook to an Android mod

HP Small Business confirmed my 2 orders. 1 should ship this weekend, the other within 2 weeks. Funny thing is that they are not even for me. My Mom and Dad both wanted one, both of my sisters and one of our friends. I just happened to be the person that could get through to the website. At least I am getting Delta miles for the purchase when they orders finally go through!

Of course, my $350 open box Ipad2 went from being a good deal to an expensive purchase.
