Yeah, I'm in like Flynn for sure! I took a video screenshot to show as proof if I'm denied. :)

If you click on product details, it shows only 13 miles. I bet that's all you will get.

The receipt I have showed only $5.29 because sales tax in CT is only 6%

AA email coming soon apologizing for the error and informing they will not be able to honor the deal.

Hope they do honor it! But odds are heavily weighted that they will not. :(

I am in for the fun of it and probably have to fight tooth and nail to get something decent out of it if AA chooses not to honor it.

Except that it's almost certainly not AA that will honor/dishonor the deal, but Verizon or Cartera.

Exactly who made the offer for the 83,871 miles? The shopping mall? Verizon? AA?

The AA mall. But VZW is likely going to have to pay out.

However I think VZW is going to attribute it to some shoddy programming skills on the part of the programmers in charge of the AA shopping mall and hence it would be AA's fault in this case.

At this point I don't even think anybody knows. I'm sure Verizon never intended to have a $5 (or even $60) item post a 80k+ mile reward, so it's almost certainly a fat finger problem somewhere along the way.

I'm not sure if that's the best or the worst possible outcome. If the shopping mall was responsible then it should be a lesser fight than arguing with another third/fourth party.

Doesn't mean they're going to honor it any easier, but if the Cancun hotel mistake fare is any indication, mistakes like this will get honored if there's enough outrage. Of course that was nothing compared to 80K AA miles, which retail for $2k on any given day.

Everybody at FT is prepared to release the necessary outrage. I'll lead the outrage from M|P'ers, if necessary!
