Making the rounds on the web, so why not have our own thread?

As you can see, something big in the AA world is scheduled to happen tomorrow:

Now let's see if this happens of it's AA's idea of a practical joke on their nosey FFers. ;)

Seems to be a standard flight number for deliveries from Boeing; there was a 737 under this code last month...

Yup, often used for deliveries. Except this one is listed as a 777. :)

I'm in Dallas about 5 mins from DFW. Any idea if I could see this baby land? Not sure which runway it'll be on or if it'll even be on time, but it may be worth trying.

The only B777-300 leaving Paine today, according to flight tracker , is goind only to Grant County, but is leaving at the correct time, 1015. I speculate this may be the one, but delivery flights don't usually happen with a precise time, in fact. Normally this is easier to find. I wonder why the absence of good information?

AA reps have confirmed elsewhere that the delivery will be today, so unless something major changes the 77W should be arriving at DFW sometime this afternoon/evening. And the timing issue is true, they have to sign all that paperwork and take ownership first. :)

You can also google "AA9703" and see the flight info now, but no aircraft type listed.

Unless something is strange here is probably the final delivery check flight, happening now.
    http://flightaware.com/live/flight/BOE37
No assurances, but it is a 773 and a local flight of 1 hr 29 min, just right for a final redelivery joyride, or it was when i used to be on them.
The disconnect for me is taht usually these have happened the day prior to a large aircraft delivery. Still, with all the last minute seat snags, this could be it.

IIRC, almost all AA delivery flights from Boeing are AA9703, so you'll see the last 738 there too.

AA is accepting a delivery from Boeing today, a 737, listed as AA9702. But 9703 is very common, too I've heard.

So, with your inside info. Is that single 77W out of Paine on a local flight the AA one?

I have nothing about that flight, but it seems others agree with you that it's the final check flight for AA9703.

    ExpertFlyer now shows AA9703 PAE-DFW, operated by 777-300. :)

Have I said that the only 773's I have flown, those of EK, are SPECTACULAR in F? I do really like 773's

I don't believe I've been on one yet? Just 772s. That being said, the BOE37 flight seems to land after AA9703 is schedule to take-off, so some confusion on whether that's AA's bird or another one undergoing testing.

The delivery schedules are "flexible" so they say, so probably that is it.

Will they (AA) be taken into that little back room where the Boeing rep is then trying to upsell them the paint protection package? Oh wait... no paint for AA ;)

The new ones are painted, and they need undercoating and extended warranty nit to mention those cool hubcap spinners

If they are flying in the new livery, wouldn't it be hard to keep it a secret? Or have they scheduled a major "unveiling" event at DFW for today with the highlight being the arrival of the newly liveried 777W?

AA is now publicizing via their Twitter feed that they are taking delivery.

They'd have to do the major unveiling up north. Otherwise the minute is rolls out of the paint shop people will have photos of it.
