Flying this route tomorrow, and they up-gauged and delayed the flight by three hours. My guess is this is an operational switch due to a mechanical on the A/C that was originally scheduled. I don't seem the using this type on a permanent basis.

Of course, because me and Mrs. Flyer were on separate Record Locators, they separated us.

Yeah, I got a UDU and I u-graded Mrs. Flyer on a regional. We were sitting together on the 767 originally scheduled, but the chose to move me. I am guessing that the first class cabin is empty and I can convince someone at SFO to put us up there?????

Negative Ghostrider, Remain in the Pattern

By the way... It looks like the 2 Class 777 not the International Configuration.

Unitedcargo is showing the AM flight to be a 67I, so OP will have a 3 cabin international config 763 with lie flat seats.

Why would UA delay a flight 3 hours if they know the day before they are changing the equipment? Doesn't make sense.

Maybe the replacement equipment isn't available sooner?

When AA up-gauged a DFW - LAX flight I was on this year, from a 757 to a three-class 763, yes, both C and F got the (domestic) F meal service.

Were there people in the F cabin, and did they? If you and the missus were in the C cabin, what did you get? Something akin to a standard UA domestic F meal? Certainly not Y food-for-purchase, I hope? Did it end up so that you could sit together?

The F cabin was full. Didn't see what they were fed. What we got, I would classify as a meal served in coach when they had such things.
