OK, the 764s are going into the shop to get new BF seats and AVOD in the back.

My question is for the AVOD. Will it be free like the CO AVOD or partially pay-for like the UA 777 AVOD?

You never know, but my guess is UA will have it match their existing AVOD...one can hope...and there is always Channel 9...right? ;)

I'm betting on the PMCO system as it will likely be the same hardware that is used in the PMCO 757s and 777s so as to match the seats.

Is one system better than the other...barring the payment bit?

As usual, the s-CO system is superior in every way -- larger screens and more entertainment options.

Then I hope that's what you all get with the 764 refurb! :D

The unconfirmed rumors are that the 764s (and PMUA 763ER domestic birds) will get the all-new Panasonic eX3 suite with larger monitors integrated into the seat design. This will also be the system installed on the 787.

764 is a Boeing 767-400, widebody aircraft operated by legacy Continental.

Absolutely no offence intended... the conversation reminded me of something from my favorite website.

Yeah. I knew it was a 767, but being primarily a PMUA flyer, I didn't realize that Boeing was making a 400 version. Thanks to all.

Boeing made a handful that DL and CO bought. It was quickly replaced by the 772.

I actually like flying on the B764 (on daytime flights) because of that single center aisle seat. No one to bother / bother me getting in and out during the flight.

Incidentially, how many BF/Y+/Y seats will be in the reconfig 764?

I haven't seen a formal announcement but I'm pretty sure the original plan was to keep the C cabin at 35. With the two doors that mostly makes sense to not rearrange too much. Then figure they drop one row of Y seats to make 7-8 rows of E+ and the rest E-. If they drop two rows of Y they could make the whole section between doors 2 & 3 E+ but that seems unlikely.

For the brief interval between the time the first reconfigured 764 enters service and the delivery of the 787, the '64 may be the nicest ride in the fleet.
