Has anyone ever heard of AA giving back a passenger 50k miles for inconvenience? Passenger was in Business Class. Seems very unlikely.
I guess it might depend on what the "inconvenience" was. I once had a horribly fouled-up award situation (on an airline other than AA, though) that wound up with my lady being denied a TATL Business seat we had redeemed for, with her in coach and me in the other Business seat. (It was sort of a special trip, and the point of booking was to fly together rather than in separate cabins.) Ultimately I got credited a bunch of miles, but some of those were miles that had come out of my account for the award redemption anyway.
Hi orangeotter! 50k miles for an inconvenience sounds like a lot, but I guess it would depend on what happened. Care to share more details?
can't speak for AA, but United just gave me $750.00 for a flight attendant opening a cabinet and a board falling down and hitting me in the head.
That my friend... is not an inconvenience but an assault... Jokes aside.. I hope it was not too serious a bump and there are no lasting damages?
It's a possibility but the most I've ever got from an airline for an issue was 25k Miles or $500 Voucher (Needless to say I took the miles).
no damages at all. The only thing that truly amazed me was that the idiot attendant ( who never even apologized) put the board back in the cabinet. When the purser opened the cabinet again, it fell on my leg. He made sure that nothing was left in the cabinet after that. I think that is why they were generous in their compensation.
The most I've ever got was for an overnight delay in Brussels, and that was 15,000 miles on a paid economy ticket with a systemwide upgrade. I can see offering more on a paid business ticket. 50,000 miles doesn't sound out of line compared to what I got for a paid coach ticket.
Hmmmmmm....if you had stated headaches and neck pain....they would have thrown in $5,000 to stay away from a lawyer!
No one here can tell you whether the story is made up or not. Not to mention that you haven't even told us what the story is. There is always a possibility that you met someone who did receive 50K miles.
