Just got this e-mail from AA. I would guess that this is targeted.

    Earn 500 AAdvantage® Miles and
Upgrade Your Next Stay to Gold with Hilton HHonors

Your frequent travel has earned you instant Hilton HHonorsTM Gold status through March 2014. You can enjoy complimentary room upgrades, high-speed Internet access, breakfast and more. Plus, you'll earn 500 American Airlines AAdvantage® miles after your first stay at any hotel within the Hilton Worldwide portfolio and 50,000 HHonors Bonus Points after your fourth stay by November 28, 2012.

Got the same offer. This has pushed me from having no elite status with hotels in 2011 to now having mid-tier elite status with Starwood, Hyatt, and now Hilton.

Got one, but am having trouble signing up. I'm already a HHonors Gold, but only until 2013. The extension of status as well as the 50k points would be nice.

Called Hilton up and they have no clue as there is no "code" on the email AA sent us. I clicked on the link, which asks me my AAdv number- that also failed, giving me an error message of "Your AAdv number is invalid" or something alike.

Hilton asks me to contact AA, which I did. Still waiting a response. Anybody with similar experience?

Mine went through without any problems too. But it actually signed me up for a new HH account.

It now says that my FFN is already in use. Not sure what that means. Perhaps AA rep can help? :)

I found the link (haven't received my email...yet), but couldn't get it to accept my account number (regardless of upper or lower case)... According to AA on twitter this is targeted.

Yup, I did see that Tweet. Makes sense, I doubt AA struck a deal with Hilton to let ALL their elites get mid-tier status for nothing. Would be nice, but unlikely.

Curious what the criteria would be, I've never really been selected for other targeted offers.

I assumed Hilton is targeting EXP's...seems like it would be up Hilton's alley. I am Gold with Hilton, but I REALLY want those points! I just used a bunch of HH points for a trip to NYC and want to build back up my account. :)

I've never accumulated points with HH so I don't really know the value of 50K points. Will have to start researching and see if it's worth doing some stays.

The value is horrible (maybe around 8-tenths of a cent).. I got an AXON (amex card) award in NYC 4 nights for 145K at the Conrad NYC..there are some really good aspirational properties around the world. Plus the Hilton properties have nice gyms (generally).

I got nothing! But I'm already Hilton Gold for free due to a promo they left wide open :D. I would have liked the bonus 50k after 4 nights though!

    Quick update-

AAdvantage desk confirms that they have been some "kinks" that are not linking HHonors to AAdvantage database, hence why some people (or is it just me?) are getting the "The AAdvantage Number is already in use" error message.

She said link should be alive within 24 hours.

I doubt the only criteria is that someone be EXP, and I've seen it posted elsewhere that PLTs were offered this promo, too, so being EXP doesn't seem to be the key.

Called whom? I called Hilton before I called AA, and they were unable to do that.

Hilton sent this out to some Delta Platinum Medallions last year, I know that I got that. It is possible they did send it to a swath of 50,000 or so. Wouldn't surprise me with how Hilton throws out status.
