I just got this in snail mail and thought that it warranted its own thread.

I'm a bit uncertain about the "everyday purchases" statement but the footnotes say

I wonder how targeted this will be...and if this is enough incentive for me to start putting some $ on the card. Sapph Pref is 2X on dining.

I got a postcard today for this offer.

Received nothing here. Would love to earn 3.5 points per dollar on my upcoming stay at Andaz

The mailing didn't say anything about it being targetted. Both my partner and I got it - we're both Diamonds (him through the SMD3 "promo") - have little activity on the card (except for Hyatt stays which isn't that much because we had some GCs left from the Capital One signup last year).

@peteropny, I gather this applies to all Chase Hyatt cardholders?

If you didn't get the mailer, you could email Chase and ask or just spend on the card and see what happens. There is no registration.

Rec'd the same. I'm a very small-time spender (really only Hyatt stays after I hit the minimum), so this might be to ask us to use the card more? No registration req'd, though, so I wonder if it was targeted or just mailed slowly.

Of the three bonus categories, I already get more Hyatt points on gas (Ink Bold) and dining (Preferred Sapphire), but having a card with a bonus on groceries is nice; didn't have one of those.

I got the card too and will basically use this only for my Hyatt stays where i use the card anyway. Indeed, I do better on gas/groceries/dining on other cards.

Would be nice if we could get the Hyatt card outside US. Unfortunately, in the UK you can only earn Hyatt points by staying in Hyatt properties (I guess it's the same elsewhere outside USA). At least we have Tesco Clubcard for BA miles!

The offer is targeted. I called CS and was told I would not receive it.

Who do you think pays for the bonus points? I assume Chase, but not sure. Is it their decision solely to put the offer in the field?

Wasn't there some survey that went out earlier about possible changes to the Hyatt CC? I wonder how that one is going, and if we're ever going to see some of those proposed changes actually take effect.
