Here are the details:
I guess if you can afford an M fare between those places and NRT, it's worth it. Cheapest M fare I could find was ~$3,500.
Dang, had my paid J ORD-NRT-ICN-NRT-ORD trip much earlier. Oh well.
There's also the same promo available for Y going to ORD-HKG roundtrip on the non stops. UA 895 896.
Yeah, it's too bad UA is putting out these promos but only for their expensive fares. Only seems to work out for those business travelers who accidentally book a late ticket to HKG or NRT. Doesn't seem to be much on UA's plate lately for the more common traveler... clearly part of their shift to a revenue based view of customers.
get it reissued for any reason, or increase the fare on one segment (the cheapest one) to get it worthwhile... used tricks like that before to have a new reissue date. Cost me $18 dollars and got me about 25K miles
I think the ORD-HKG promo also covers S class:
Roundtrip travel is required in F, A, J, C, D, Z Y, B, M, U, H, Q, V, W, S booking classes.
