    Hey experts,

It's about 24 hours until my long haul flight tomorrow. Currently the seat next to mine is open. In fact, there's a few scattered open seats throughout Y. However, I'm the open seat next to mine is the first one closest to the plane. Honestly I don't care whether I'm in 22 or 36 - as long as no one is next to me. (though I think it's a little quieter at 22)/

Would I have a better chance of keeping an empty seat if I move to 34 now?

There are WAY too many factors to consider on something like that. I think your best strategy would be to check at the gate about 60 minutes prior to departure and ask if there is another seat that meets your criteria. This way, you can take advantage of misconnects and no-shows.

Also, very likely, the window seats will be filled before those middles will be assigned.
