It's that time of year, when we all get to guess when the year-2015 packages will show up in our post-boxes.

I am guessing February 12th, to my quiet little village on northern Vancouver Island. Picking that date because my next departure from home is on the 11th, and Murphy's Law subsists. ^_^

My first, sad, guess was going to be April 15th, and then it dawned upon me that I really don't care any more :<

Card can come on Saint Swithin's Day, or on Midsummer Eve, or in seventy-leven months from now, and it won't change all that much (at least not as long as the card is not required for presentation at the lounges). And even if t'were again required, I wouldn't be missing out on much were I to be obliged to connect through YYC (which airport I studiously avoid owing to its likelihood for delays).

I'm guessing that mine will arrive Jan 15th for the same reason cited by mevlannen.

Mind you it won't actually be required until middle of March when I'll be wanting to access non-AC lounges.

If it comes soon, I can use last year's card as a windshield-scraper. Previous one's just about worn out.

I keep my old one in the car for use at Esso.

And my car in the garage to avoid scraping. :)

When I retire, my hobby shall be to design a tunnel from Vancouver Island to the Mainland. No snow and ice down in those magma-warmed depths!

For those who signed up on day one, they'll start arriving this week, starting with Toronto since that's where they're being sent from. So I'll go for the 6th/7th/8th of January.

As of the 10th, not yet received in my post-box on northern Vancouver Island, but then again, we're in some sort of odd postal-service time-warp area.

Got mine In Toronto day before I left on my HKG trip (Thursday). Transborder MLL receptionist had never seen a 2015 card...nor had the LH Senator lounge dragon at FRA who insisted on seeing my card in addition to my F ticket (on TG or I'd have used the FCL). See if it's needed to use the FCL on the way back when I will have an LH F boarding pass (or the STAR F lounge at CDG on my connection from BKK to FRA). Still waiting for my UA 1K card (and their benefit year ends January 31st, not February 28th).

Had to widen the holes in the baggage tags, so that the swaged end of the wire loop would fit through. Thought to myself "they put that hole too close to the edge, no wonder it's too small, too!". Put the tags on my bags.

Arrived at YQU. As usual, priority-tagged bags out dead last. Also (and you know where this is headed), wire loops still on bags, but tags gone.

So, waiting now to see if design is improved next year. In the meantime, am back to my usual status of YD(on't)KWIA (and that's okay....).

Well, if Tango goes to 0 AQS or 0.25 AQS I won't be getting the darned card anyway, heya?

In theory, I live in a place that has a dreary winter climate as it is (most suitable for a dolorous old Finnmaiden), but in practice, we have had no winter in the past couple of years. Local ski hill is in the throes of going bust. Local loggers are revelling in the lack of snow and out there up the mountain mowing trees like mad with their fancy tree-snipping machines.

So, lack of my annual package of window-scrapers (or erstwhile fugitive baggage-tags) won't be quite such a horrid deprivation.
