Registration has just opened for the 2011 Pearson Runway Run! (& Walk)

Come wander up and down runway 24L! (the lower-right runway at this map: http://goo.gl/maps/AvGy)

5km run or 2km walk, with 24R remaining active right beside you. Great for spotting small-to-medium aircraft -- the big boys stay on the far runway most of the time, probably for safety reasons. [IMG]

Highly recommended for those that love every opportunity to walk on the tarmac. It's hot and smells like jet fuel too, which can be a plus or a minus depending on your personal preferences. [IMG]

Information: http://www.gtaa.com/en/community_rel...on/runway_run/ (still just 2010, but should be updated shortly)
    Registration: http://www.events.runningroom.com/site/?raceId=6572

If you'll be there, be sure to update this thread so we can have an on-runway DO!

(cross-posted to FT, which normally I would shy away from doing but in this case seemed reasonable)

Awesome, I was there last year and they had a FedEx Boeing 727 parked and they let us go in and take pics of the cargo hold, and the cockpit! And also a Air Canada Airbus 319 Kids Horizons livery plane parked to take pics.
Awesome some nice Air Canada posters were available for the taking, and Air Canada Kids Horizons luggage tags! A great event, and a great cause! Particpation medals were also handed out to all finishers!

Have been there the last two years as well. Both kids and parents enjoy the stroll down the runway. The fedex plane they had the last two years was a 727 cargo plane. Don't forget the fire trucks and displays inside the hangar.
