Frequent Flyer Giving (FFG) is proud to announce the 2011 Holiday Donation Drive benefitting the UACO WeCare Employee Fund. The WeCare Fund is a financial assistance program that helps United and Continental Airlines employees and their families by granting financial assistance. These funds are used to pay for basic necessities such as rent, clothing, medicine and food, during unexpected emergencies such as floods, fires and personal illness. WeCare traces its roots back to early 1984, when a group of Accounting employees began to salvage and sell computer paper with proceeds dedicated to the department's holiday party. When one of the employees in the department became ill and couldn't buy food for her two small children, the party money was loaned to her. As the funds grew, the employees became aware of other assistance needs and WeCare was born. All WeCare cases are submitted in confidence and reviewed by UACO's WeCare volunteer board of directors. In 2008, WeCare donated $ $981,704 to 766 Continental employees. FFG is a non-profit entity founded by myself, J.Edward, Hartmann, and XYZZY with the gracious and full support of UA Insider(s) and the UACO WeCare directors. 100% of proceeds will go to the UACO WeCare Employee Fund. Our 2011 fundraising goal is $5000. The FFG directors will match, dollar for dollar, every donation up to $2000 raised online. To donate, please go to www.ffgiving.org. The donation drive will end January 2, 2012. Donations should be tax deductible as both organizations are registered 501(c) non-profit entities; please see your tax accountant for more information.
