Happy with United from the FRA lounge... after a couple of 1st class rides to and from Austin within the last few days, then a surprise seat change on the late flight to FRA from IAD last night. Why did they change our seats, we wondered? We boarded and found out the answer - a new configuration 777 replaced the original aircraft. So I passed the 1K mark sleeping comfortably last night over the Atlantic, after a very good dinner and movie. Really glad to have been able to use the SWU's this year, and have been upgraded in domestic flights throughout the year more often than not. Thanks United!
Yes - already had confirmed SWU seats and up til departure United.com was showing the old configuration 777
Pass some of that new config karma along then. Flying IAD-FRA on Friday and would love the config change. I know odds are against, but a little travel karma wouldn't hurt. Hmmm, flying on Friday. Guess I should go look at seatguru and answer the question of which seat should I take? (...and I just screwed any possible travel karma with that joke. Sigh. )
It's worth it to me for the upgrades! And the SWU's - especially when I can use them And the fee- free changes, and the increased award availability, fewer miles for hotels, cars..... etc.
The aircraft swap doesn't (though that was the main bit of the post). The ability to get SWUs does. I, too, was confused.
