For those who have the BA card, I saw this offer on the BA website where you would get a statement credit of $50 for which time you dine at any Michelin starred restaurant in NYC with a minimum spend of $50 subject to a maximum of 2 credits($100 total).

More details on the website: https://www.britishairways.com/trav...chase-dining&openxbanner=8243&openxtype=click

Now the good thing is that a few of these Michelin restaurants are participating in restaurant week and do have some nice offers. If not, most of them also do have reasonable prix fixe during lunch at about $30-$40 pp.

I had just been talking to my wife about going out to one of these restaurants for a nice dinner. This is a GREAT find.

4 meals at much more reasonable prices at some of the best restaurants in the world.
    Thanks leeivan86!

Would anyone on here happen to know if meals at Nougatine will show up as Jean-Georges, or as Nougatine on the credit card statement?

Good find, especially with NYCRW extended until 9/5 (they should just stop pretending and call it "Restaurant Summer") :)

The prix fixe menu on some of these places means you might not even meet the $50 minimum spend, but you can always pad the bill with liquor. :)

Bad thing is that every place near work is always packed... :)

I went through the list of all the Michelin restaurants and there are 3 of them that are participating in restaurant week: SHO Shaun Hergatt, Cafe Boulud and Aldea.
Of those 3 mentioned, I have been to Cafe Boulud and it was good for the money but it gets really crazy now during restaurant week.
My favourite in the list is still Eleven Madison(they have an awesome prix fixe and tasting menu) but I am surprised that it is still stuck at 1 star in the list.

Jean-Georges is my favorite on the list, but it's got 3 stars for a reason. But usually for us it makes more sense to go to Nougatine for the same food (same kitchen) at a much more casual atmosphere.

Although your backup plan is one I'd happily subscribe to, I can't see a bill for two, with tax and tip, being below $50.

Depending on who you are with, split the bill and each pay with a BA Visa?

At the $24.07 price, going dutch, and not buying a drink, I guess you could come in below $50. I wouldn't expect to find myself in either of those situations. But yes, I guess it is possible.

Jean Georges is a very reasonable $32 for a 2-course lunch (and not even during restaurant week) - nice find.

Kajitsu in the East Village also has very reasonable $50 and $70 pre fixe menus and is fantastic.

This is a great find! Thank you. Booked a restaurant dinner at SHO Shaun Hergatt. Trying to decide on where else to dine.

This is great find. Some of these restaurants are actually pretty affordable.

Maybe I should suggest something other than Katz for lunch on the 15th then? ;)

Certainly for lunch. Even more so when $50 comes off the tab! :)

I am vegetarian so that restricts my options quite a bit. I was thinking of doing Dovetail near my house on the UWS, but I like the options mentioned in this thread too - Aldea, SHO Shaun Hergatt and Kajitsu. I might do Shaun and Aldea with a friend (he has a BA Chase too) who's going to be visiting NYC soon and then Dovetail and Kajitsu by myself.

Agreed. Restaurant Saul on the very hip and trendy Smith Street in Brooklyn is a casual place that's rated up there.

Most of these places have good vegetarian options - call and ask. We just had a wonderful dinner at Picholine, I ordered from the vegetarian menu while my wife had seafood. I would highly recommend Picholine, veg or not. I had the broccoli with salsa verde and the maccheroni alla chittara. The white gazpacho was also good. Finished with a great cheese plate.

Went to Jean Georges (in the Trump building) the other day for the $32 for 2 plates lunch and it was phenomenal...highly recommend it.

I am planning to try this promotion out this weekend. Does anyone know if I need to do anything but simply charge it to my BA card and then just wait for the credit? Anyone already had this credit post to their card? Thank you in advance.

    Cheers,

    PedroNY
