    Be very careful here. Some folks report receiving VacationCards from this promotion that have an additional condition saying that payments made by the card do not earn Marriott Rewards points.

    If that turns out to be the case, a MR member would lose the 10 points per dollar given at most properties as well as the bonus for elites (50% for Platinum) and the foregoing of the additional 5 points per dollar if charged to the Marriott black VISA card. That's about a 20% loss that more than offsets the 10% discount and the SkyPesos in my opinion.

    As an alternative, you can earn 10 marriot points per dollar for purchasing a gift card here:
    You'd still earn points/miles for redeeming the card, of course.
