10 Favorite Free Things at Airports
    • Free Movies & Video Games: Singapore Changi
    • Free iPads: JFK Airport Terminals 2-3
    • Free Library: Amsterdam Schiphol
    • Free Skype Calls: Tallinn, Estonia
    • Free Airport Tours: San Diego
    • Free City Tours: Taipei Taoyuan - Singapore's airport also offers free city breaks.
    • Free Smithsonian Museum: Washington Dulles
    • Free Children's Play Area: Chicago O'Hare
    • Free Showers & Coffee: Munich
    • Free Culture: Seoul Incheon
I am surprised to see some US airports on this list as much as I have personally witnessed as they try to milk every passenger that goes through (whether it's in $2.49 for a small bag of chips or $9.99 Wi-Fi).

Although we all most like to be upgraded to the front of the plane and/or given lounge access, I am sure you all have your favorite airport freebee ... please share with us! :)

It is indeed free at SIN, IIRC in T3.

SIN also has koi ponds, a cactus garden, and a butterfly cage.

Not necessarily a favourite thing, but free baggage carts should be available at ALL airports and ALL terminals.

Many USA airports have free baggage carts for international arrivals, in the baggage claim hall before customs. They can sometimes be retained and taken to other areas of the airport, for example from TBIT at LAX to check in counters for other airlines in other terminals ands similarly from T4 at JFK on the sky train to other terminals, or to private and rental cars in the parking garages at MSP.

Lightshow at DTW on the path between mainline and commuter DL terminals. Also the free red train that goes back and forth above the long narrow terminal.

There are airplane themed children's play areas at MSP, for example in the C concourse not far from the DL SC and a food court.

My favorite thing is generally clean/maintained bathrooms! At least at major international airports the local bathroom style is not offered.

I have to laugh. Is a "hydration station" the new term for water fountain?
I do think that working, cooled, fountains on the gate side of security are great to fill up my empty bottle. And yes, I drink tap water in the US.

That's very nice. While I'll unlikely ever need it as a *G with SEN lounge access, I do think a quick hot shower is the best thing ever after a long flight. Very civilized, them Bavarians. :)

Wait, where are the free showers at MUC? As a *A kettle I think this is going to be good to know!

I don't think I've ever gotten anything free at an airport besides wi-fi and a newspaper or two (c'mon, I'm not going to count water from a drinking fountain as a freebie) so this is a very interesting list indeed.

I'm pretty sure IST also offers free city tours to connecting TK passengers.
