WestJet Changes

WestJet Changes

When WestJet launched its Frequent Guest program in March 2010, members had to reach a $1,500 spending threshold before they would start receiving WestJet dollars. The $1,500 annual spending requirement has been removed and members will start earning WestJet dollars with their first flight. The $500 maximum redemption for WestJet Vacations packages has also been eliminated and there is no limit to the amount of WestJet dollars members can redeem for vacation packages. Also, all WestJet RBC MasterCard cardholders are automatically registered in the Frequent Guest Program.

Frequent Guest members earn one percent in WestJet dollars when spending less than $1,500 annually and the earn rate increases to 2.5 percent after spending $1,500. A $1 WestJet dollar is the equivalent of $1 CDN that can be redeemed toward travel with WestJet and members can redeem WestJet dollars for flights or vacation packages starting at $25 WestJet dollars.
