About Me

After receiving my Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry in 1986, I spent the next 7 years as a postdoctoral research fellow at several reputable academic institutions, including Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (1989-1993). The focus of my research was and continues to be the development of innovative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and spectroscopy (MRS) methods for biomedical and neuroscience applications. In 1993, I joined the faculty of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University in New York City as an Assistant Professor of Radiology, where I directed and conducted innovative clinical MR neuroimaging research in neurology and neuropsychiatry for the next decade. In 2004, I accepted a position at Weill Medical of College Cornell University, where I am currently Professor of Radiology and Director of the Laboratory for Advanced Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy Research. I am frequent manuscript reviewer for a number of international journals on biomedical imaging and regularly review grant applications for the National Institutes of Health (NIH). In 2010, I was named Fellow of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM).
