Chrissie Hynde of iconic rock band The Pretenders reacts to Trump honoring Limbaugh and how Rush touched her life

What a refreshing breath of fresh air it is when a prominent liberal is actually honest, respectful, and tolerant in addressing the president and in talking about conservatives!

Chrissie Hynde, lead singer of rock band The Pretenders, has staggered observers on both the political right and left with a tweeted, heartfelt message of appreciation to President Trump regarding the Presidential Medal of Freedom given to Rush Limbaugh during the recent State of the Union address.

In a five-part tweet, Hynde began by giving voice to her deceased father, a proud Marine on Guadalcanal. She wrote: “Dear Mr. President, I often think of how much my father, Melville ‘Bud’ Hynde, who proudly served his country as a Marine on Guadalcanal, would have enjoyed your Presidency.

“The other day when you gave that award to Rush Limbaugh, my father would have been so delighted. He loved listening to Rush, which is why I allowed my song, ‘My City Was Gone’, to be used on his radio show,” wrote Hynde.

My City Was Gone” has been a recognized staple of Limbaugh’s radio program for many years.

The 68-year-old musician then mentioned that she and her dad disagreed on many things and “argued a lot … but isn’t that the American way?  The right to disagree without having your head chopped off?”

Wow. Hynde has in the past been critical about some aspects of conservatism and she is a stalwart PETA supporter, but at a time when there are liberals talking about political blood sport, and a leftist U.S. Senate candidate is literally using a guillotine as a campaign logo and is explaining it as a “symbol of the work we have to do,” it is reassuring to see Hynde’s comments–with the hope it could signal a beginning to a return of respectful dialog among Americans with different viewpoints.

The Pretenders founder went on to very honestly explain that she would soon be participating in a protest in London against the extradition of Julian Assange. In expressing her view that Assange has been deservedly punished for illegal behavior he demonstrated as he “sought to defend Freedom,” Hynde pleaded with Trump to consider freeing the man.

Michelle Malkin: Parents’ anti-Drag Queen Hour resistance rises

(FREDERIC J. BROWN/AFP via Getty Images)

The Boy Scouts of America filed for bankruptcy this week amid a deluge of sex-abuse lawsuits. The Catholic clergy’s pedophilia conspiracies have cost the church more than $3 billion and countless followers. Scandal after scandal shows how cunning child predators have exploited trusted civic institutions under cover of “diversity,” “inclusion” and “progressivism.”

Now more than ever, parents across the country are rising up to protect their local public schools and public libraries from turning into the next pedo playgrounds that will steal innocence, ruin lives, ravage communities and impose mind-boggling costs on taxpayers. It’s a grassroots movement whose leaders have been demonized by both left-wing smear merchants at the Southern Poverty Law Center (which likens resistant parents to “neo-Nazis”) and marginalized by GOP Beltway elitists who run the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (which banned the top anti-drag queen hour activist group in 2018 for fully embracing a true “culture war” against transvestite and transsexual forces hijacking the schools).

“MassResistance.org has been on the forefront of fighting back and stopping Drag Queen Story Hour programs all over the country,” the group’s director Arthur Schaper told me this week. “Our activists have uncovered the lurid sites and social media they promote, and we have exposed that a number of them have criminal backgrounds, including two sex offenders who had assaulted minors! These are hardly role models, contrary to what the Drag Queen Story Hour website claims.” Through local community organizing, investigative work and social media leveraging, MassResistance is making a difference.

Here’s what you must understand: Social justice rainbow warriors didn’t accomplish the metastasis of Drag Queen Story Hours in public schools and libraries on their own. Capitulationist “conservatives” and libertarians, who prioritize virtue signaling over safety, joined forces with trans militants to promote blind acceptance of sexual perversity masquerading as “diversity” and marketed to toddlers and elementary school students. Turning Point USA, the leading youth conservative organization, features drag queens and rainbow advocates at campus events. National Review writer David French, now a featured speaker on the Young America’s Foundation campus circuit, told the New Yorker: “The fact that a person can get a room in a library and hold a Drag Queen Story Hour and get people to come? That’s one of the blessings of liberty.”

Insanity.

Unlike the DQL (Drag Queen Lobby) on both sides of the political spectrum, parental sovereignty soldiers in the heartland have all the right enemies because they answer to only one special interest: our kids.

In Columbus, Ohio this week, protesters shut down a planned “Disney-themed” drag queen story hour at Clinton Elementary School.

In Chula Vista, California, vigilant parents filed public information requests revealing deception by City Councilmember Steve Padilla and Mayor Mary Salas, who falsely asserted at a council meeting that drag queens in the schools are subjected to full vetting and background checks. MassResistance released documents this week from the city clerk admitting that no criminal background checks were conducted by police on two drag queens, “Raquelita” and “Barbie Q,” before they performed at a public library in front of 300 schoolchildren last September. The records exposed that “the City does not require background checks for any of its performers as they only work with staff for less than twenty hours and the city has a standing policy that they are considered episodic volunteers and do not require a background check.”

During their day jobs, the two performers defended by Salas and Padilla call themselves “The Hottest Exxotics” and promote gay bar hookups with young-looking men called “twinks.”

In Missouri, state Republican legislator Ben Baker has introduced a bill to bar drag queens from presenting age-inappropriate sexual material to young kids at public libraries.

In Texas, MassResistance chapter chair Tracy Shannon and other parents helped uncover two registered sex offenders performing as drag queens in the Houston public library system last year. One had been convicted of assaulting an 8-year-old boy. The other, a transgender porn star, had been convicted of multiple sexual assaults against four young children (ages 4, 5, 6 and 8). Texas MassResistance parents also exposed a third registered sex offender last summer operating in Austin elementary schools as “Miss Kitty Litter,” who had been convicted of male prostitution. The local government-subsidized librarian had been warned in advance by the drag queen that he would fail a criminal background check. The event was scheduled anyway with reckless disregard for the children’s safety.

Parent resisters were maligned as bigots by Texas officials, who mocked their faith and concerns. Gay Houston city councilman Mike Laster sneered: “What are you afraid of?”

Ask the families suing the Boy Scouts and Catholic dioceses across the country and around the world. Resist now, parents, or regret when it’s too late.

Queen Elizabeth orders Harry and Meghan to remove the word ‘royal’ from branding

Queen Elizabeth reportedly banned her grandson, Prince Harry, and his wife Meghan Markle from monetizing the “Sussex Royal” brand to make money off their royal titles.

Basically, the Queen said the couple can no longer use the word “royal” as part of their brand after they decided to step down from their royal duties last month.

“The Queen and senior officials are believed to have agreed it is no longer tenable for the couple to keep the word ‘royal’ in their ‘branding,'” the Daily Mail reported. “The couple have accepted that, as part of their new working arrangements, they will not be able to use the Sussex Royal name as they had hoped.”

This latest move by Queen Elizabeth underscores that she will not tolerate Prince Harry and Meghan Markle cheapening the British monarchy in order to make a few bucks.

Unfortunately, Harry and Meghan have spent a good chunk of money launching a “Sussex Royal” website, a charitable foundation, and an Instagram account in the hopes of making millions from their past as British royals.

Prince Harry and Meghan had also planned to trademark “Sussex Royal” so they can peddle consumer goods such as clothing, stationery, and books.

Now, the couple will be forced to rebrand because the Queen allegedly blocked them. A source told the Daily Mail that the Queen’s decision is a major blow to Prince Harry and Meghan, who basically wanted the privileges of being members of the British monarchy without the responsibilities:

“In many ways this is inevitable, given their decision to step down, but it must surely come as a blow to the couple as they have invested everything into the Sussex Royal brand.

The Queen would have had little choice, however. The Sussexes’ original plan – of being half-in, half-out working royals – was never going to work.”

In January, Queen Elizabeth stripped Harry and Meghan of their royal titles so they can no longer be called “their Royal Highnesses,” but will still be referred to as the duke and duchess of Sussex.

Meghan’s estranged father, Thomas Markle, accused his daughter of “destroying” a 1,500-year-old British institution and “turning it into a WalMart with a crown” because she’s a thirsty, money-grubbing fame monger.

Thomas Markle — who raised Meghan from ages 11 to 18 — said he was disappointed because his daughter wanted to be rich and famous all her life. But when she finally trapped her prince, she destroyed his family.

“Both of them are turning into lost souls at this point,” Thomas said of Prince Harry and Meghan. “I don’t know what they’re looking for. They are turning [the Royal Family] into a Walmart with a crown on. She’s tossing that away for money. This is not the girl I raised.”

Thomas is estranged from Meghan and did not attend her wedding. Meghan — a Trump-hating leftist –is also estranged from her sister, Samantha Markle. In fact, it appears that Meghan has a special gift for tearing families apart.

(Source: NBC News)

Shockingly, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been married for less than two years. The couple wed in May 2018 and immediately got pregnant because Meghan, 38, (who’s three years older than Harry) needed to have a baby before she turned 40 and faced fertility problems.

Thomas Markle — a retired Hollywood lighting director — divorced Meghan’s left-wing mom, a yoga instructor, when Meghan was six-years-old. Thomas said he’s dismayed that Meghan shows so little respect for tradition and the promises she made when she married into the British monarchy.

It’s not like she went into her high-profile marriage without understanding the obligations that come with the many privileges.

Ilhan Omar back in immigration hotseat, former ally in Somali community drops claim about brother

300w" />
(KARE video screenshot)

A whistleblower from the Somali community in Minneapolis where Rep. Ilhan Omar grew up claims that the rumors that the congresswoman once married her own brother to help him bypass America’s immigration laws are true.

Abdihakim Osman, a local Somali community leader who used to be among the congresswoman’s friends, revealed in an interview with the Daily Mail this week that nobody in the community even knew about the marriage until sleuths in the conservative media brought it up years later.

To Osman and his peers in Minneapolis, the man that documents now show Omar had married, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, had always been known simply as her brother —  her seemingly gay brother, that is.

“People began noticing that Ilhan and [Ahmed Abdisalan Hirsi, her first husband]  were often with a very effeminate young guy,” Osman said to the Daily Mail through an interpreter.

“He was very feminine in the way he dressed. He would wear light lipstick and pink clothes and very, very, short shorts in the summer. People started whispering about him. [Hirsi] and Ilhan both told me it was Ilhan’s brother and he had been living in London but he was mixing with what were seen as bad influences that the family did not like. So they sent him to Minneapolis as ‘rehab.'”

Documents show that Omar married Hirsi in 2002. They subsequently divorced in 2008, a year before Elmi entered the picture.

The following year, Omar legally married Elmi on Feb. 12, 2009, in Eden Prairie, a small town nearly 20 miles from her home in Minneapolis.

“She said she needed to get papers for her brother to go to school,” Osman said of the secretive marriage. “We all thought she was just getting papers together to allow him to stay in this country. Once she had the papers they could apply for student loans.”

And so nobody really knew about the marriage, which seems odd given all the attention that was given to her first marriage to Hirsi.

“When [Hirsi] and Ilhan got married, a lot of people were invited,” Osman noted. “It was a big Islamic wedding uniting two large clans in the Minneapolis community. I would say there were 100-150 people there. [But] when she married Elmi, no one even knew about it.”

It was almost as if she was trying to hide something.

“Osman believes Elmi and Omar sought out someone outside the Somali community to conduct the ceremony because an imam would have known they were related and would have refused to marry them,” the Daily Mail notes.

However, no matter how hard Ilhan tries to hide the truth, documents such as the marriage license below are here to stay:

Two years after her marriage to Elmi, Omar suddenly reconciled with Hirsi and went on to have a third child with him in 2012.

Five years later in 2017, she and Elmi were legally divorced. The next year, she and Hirsi were legally married up until their highly publicized divorce last year.

However, Osman believes the 2018 re-marriage to Hirsi was a total sham.

“They never parted,” he reportedly scoffed, echoing the growing belief that her temporary divorce from him was all part of a scheme to help her brother relocate to the U.S. so he could attend school here.

But according to the congresswoman, this belief is an example of “anti-Muslim smears and hate speech”:

FYI, Osman appears to be a Muslim …

When questioned about Osman’s claims, the congresswoman’s spokesperson reportedly told the Daily Mail, “The Congresswoman is focused on the work her constituents sent her to Washington to accomplish.”

But considering that she’s reportedly being investigated by the Department of Justice, by the Department of Education and by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, perhaps it might be time for her to stop smearing her critics as bigots and start addressing the now-viral rumors.

Gov Newsom buried in mockery when he argues doctors should write scripts for … housing!

300w" />
Screengrab CBS

While you may be left wondering if California’s Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom has been partaking in some of the legal medical marijuana now rampant in his state, the politician does deserve credit for being one of the few on the left brave enough to put a voice to the grand utopian society they actually envision.

Not that Newsom didn’t pay dearly for it in the snarky world of social media.

The governor took to Twitter to say, “Doctors should be able to write prescriptions for housing the same way they do for insulin or antibiotics.”

It’s a stance that acts as if housing can be produced and bottled like medicinal drugs — never mind the issue of who’s paying for the housing.

Nevertheless, as Newsom stated in a follow-up tweet, having a roof over your head is a “fundamental” need.

“We need to start targeting social determinants of health. We need to start treating brain health like we do physical health. What’s more fundamental to a person’s well being than a roof over their head?” he tweeted.

Gavin Newsom

Doctors should be able to write prescriptions for housing the same way they do for insulin or antibiotics.

We need to start targeting social determinants of health. We need to start treating brain health like we do physical health.

What’s more fundamental to a person’s well being than a roof over their head?

388 people are talking about this

With Democrats having subsidized homelessness, causing it to proliferate to out-of-control levels in many American cities, they now seek a taxpayer-funded solution to a government-created problem.

Honestly speaking, the tent-lined streets in the Skid Row section of Los Angeles in a national embarrassment — one the liberal media shows little interest in.

And Newsom partially blames America’s failed mental health system that his party is almost entirely responsible for.

Gavin Newsom

@GavinNewsom

Let’s be clear: Massive failures in our mental health system and disinvestment in our social safety net—exacerbated by widening income inequality and our housing shortage— has led us to where we are today: too many Californians left to live on our streets.

574 people are talking about this

While there are a number of reasons to account for homelessness, it’s not by accident that this problem is almost exclusive to Democrat-run cities.

If there is a positive here, it may be that perhaps this will be the final straw that breaks the camel’s back, finally teaching Californians that elections do indeed have consequences.

Here’s just a small sampling of responses from Twitter:

In a September 8, 2016,  email from  New York Times reporter Michael Schmidt to Kortan, Schmidt gives the DOJ an early “heads up on something we’re planning on reporting today,” which was about Clinton’s email server technician,  Paul Combetta, deleting Hillary’s subpoenaed emails, and saying “The fact that Combetta was given immunity takes much of the air out of the idea that DOJ needs to investigate the deletions.”
So now we know that the FBI report of Clinton’s ‘interview’ is incomplete and that Peter Strzok may have details on the classified briefing of candidate Trump that were used as pretext for a spy operation. No wonder the FBI had been stonewalling the release of these emails.

CIA, DOJ Stonewall on Existence of Eric Ciaramella Records

Once again the federal government is pretending it doesn’t know what everyone else in the world seems to know.

We have received letters from the CIA and the Department of Justice (DOJ) stating they will neither confirm nor deny the existence of emails and other communications related to CIA official Eric Ciaramella, who reportedly worked on Ukraine issues while on detail to both the Obama and Trump White Houses.

We received these letters in response to our two December 2019 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)  lawsuits filed after the CIA and DOJ failed to respond to November 2019 requests for communications between Ciaramella and former FBI agent Peter Strzok, former FBI Attorney Lisa Page, former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, and/or the Special Counsel’s Office ( Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Justice (No. 1:19-cv-03809)) and all of Ciaramella’s emails from June 1, 2016, to November 12, 2019 ( Judicial Watch v. Central Intelligence Agency (No. 1:19-cv-03807)).

Ciaramella is  widely reported as the person who filed the whistleblower complaint that triggered the impeachment proceedings. His name reportedly was “raised privately in impeachment depositions, according to officials with direct knowledge of the proceedings, as well as in at least one open hearing held by a House committee not involved in the impeachment inquiry.”

The  CIA letter stated:

In accordance with section 3.6(a) of Executive Order 13526, the CIA can neither confirm nor deny the existence or nonexistence of records responsive to the requests. The fact of the existence or nonexistence of such records is itself exempt from FO IA under exemption (b)(3) and Section 6 of the CIA Act of I 949, 50 U.S.C. § 3507, and, to the extent your request could relate to CIA intelligence sources and methods information, the fact of the existence or nonexistence of such records is exempt from FOIA under exemption (b)(I) and exemption (b)(3) in conjunction with Section 102A(i)(l) of the National Security Act of 1947, 50 U.S.C § 3024(i)( I).

This completes our response to the above referenced cases.

The Justice Department  also refused to confirm or deny the existence of responsive records, citing, among other justifications, the personal privacy of Ciaramella.

Ciaramella’s name appears in a footnote in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s  report on the 2016 presidential election. It concerns a May 2017 meeting between President Trump and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak in the Oval Office:

(5/9/17 White House Document, “Working Visit with Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov of Russia”) … ( 5/10/17 Email, Ciaramella to Kelly et al.). [Emphasis added] The meeting had been planned on May 2, 2017, during a telephone call between the President and Russian President Vladimir Putin, and the meeting date was confirmed on May 5, 2017, the same day the President dictated ideas for the Comey termination letter to Stephen Miller…. ( 5/10/17 Email, Ciaramella to Kelly et al.). [Emphasis added]

Information about this meeting was subsequently  leaked to  The New York Times.

The CIA and Justice Department are covering up information about the alleged whistleblower behind the abusive impeachment of President Trump. CIA operative Ciaramella is documented to be involved in the Russia collusion investigation and was a key CIA operative on Ukraine in the both the Obama and Trump White Houses. The incredible secrecy about his activities shows that the DOJ and CIA are trying to cover-up rather than expose any agency abuses that led to unprecedented attacks on President Trump.
