What is a Guide?
Guides aren't necessarily the members who know the most, or who have the most miles or points (although they may be); rather they are among the friendly, welcoming and accommodating members. Guides take pride in helping someone find the best answer(s) to a question, even if they've helped countless others find the same information before. Guides will be identified by a "milepoint Guide" title attached to their Avatar.

We will expand this post as necessary to provide additional information, but remember, each of the Guides listed above is here to help you find the information that you are looking for. MilePoint is a growing resource, and navigating the forums and sub-forums can be a daunting challenge. Never be afraid to ask for help! That's what we're here for! 🙂

For additional information about the Guide program, including the program's guidelines, please see this post by Randy Petersen, founder of MilePoint.

I notice that my boyfriend guide, Cholula, has hidden all of his information. Is that so that other women can't hit on him?

Has he been hanging with Dovster too long, or not long enough?

More likely he just accidentally clicked the button to hide the info, and doesn't know what he did or how to undo it. You know how chocula is. 😀

Hey, Punkmeister. You guys still gliding down the slopes in Switzerland??

I'm still learning all the bells and whistles here at MP so you should now be able to view my info again. For what little it's worth.

I've been kicking tires, pushing buttons, flicking switches and just generally messing around with everything to see how everything works.

Must have switched off a thing or two inadvertently.

Wow chocula, you keep getting promoted. Yesterday you were merely a "Guide". Now you're a "Milepoint Guide". I can't imagine what you'll be tomorrow. 😮

Are guides assigned to certain areas or are they free to roam?

The initial announcement indicates they are like the buffalo, free to roam, home or on the range.
Since no airline flies directly from BUF-FCO, for a Buffalo to Rome, the guides must take varied disparate connections.

My handle = buffalo in Thai. I feel robbed. Where's that Dovster thread?

We do not have certain areas. We are however living in certain areas; some from US, some from Europe, some from Asia and at least one from Australia. That should give us a chance to be available around the clock.

But was there ever a flight from BUF to RMG? :p

Having known Canarsie to get lost trying to find the train station in Venice (which is almost impossible to miss) and then having him give me the wrong directions to a store in Atlanta, I think we can all be grateful that he is not a guide here.

Of course, I have also seen Cholula down an immoderate amount of alcohol, and he remains a moderator on FT.

Come to think of it, MP could probably set a record of some sort by making Canarsie a guide, Cholula a moderator, and me a moralist.

He got it wrong: E=MC³

We did not get lost, and I did not miss it.

In fact, there was the train station in plain view for all of us to see.

There just happened to be a pesky canal in the way, that’s all...
