My understanding is that "a sticky" locks the post to the top of the listing regardless of the last posting. Visualized by the push pin.

Here is who killed the Denmark United deal today by calling United to ask them about it:
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-02-11/united-airlines-offers-75-transatlantic-fare-in-possible-flaw

In the article is says "Megan McCarthy, a spokeswoman for Chicago-based United Continental Holdings Inc., wasn’t aware of the fares when reached by phone Wednesday and said she would look into the matter." so this reported CALLED United? Thanks Bloomberg News.

This was on BusinessWeek too though, complete with screenshots, and at least one person on FT called to make changes to a ticket after booking, so who knows how much they knew since the whole thing started at 4am.

The bottom line is always book first, book later, book some more and when the deal is dead see if you need to make some calls.

Seems crazy. I guess that's what happens when too many people are involved. The deal died just before I could get it to accept my credit card. I doubt it will be honored for anyone that really doesn't live in Denmark on this one. I could be wrong but I'm just thinking that it's too sketchy since you have to claim you are in Denmark, book from a Denmark site, etc.

This happened earlier with Expedia and even other currency exchange gaffe that some other site had, and I believe they were honored.

I guess time will tell.

Not sure about Expedia, but United does not honor mistakes. Chasing after those is a waste of time.

This is one thing I don't understand. Why people think that if they call the Airlines to book a mistake fare that a) it would be honoured or B.) They wouldn't communicate with revenue management to fix it. Best they can do is shut their mouths, and book it online. Alert friends, and others through a major deal site or portal where the information can get out quickly to all of those who might be able to use it.

I'm really confused by all of this. And I'm being 100% honest being your typical American or for a better subcategory Travel Consumer.

Here's what I do when I think about taking a trip somewhere, and I should preface this by saying I really like where I live so I find no overwhelming need to leave thereby burdening myself and my kids with several thousands of dollars of expenses...

I look in newspapers, magazines, the Internet , all different forms of publication for "OFFERS" of Travel. Meaning somebody offering to sell me something for a price.

I do not in any way investigate what it costs a butcher to provide me with a T bone steak for 8.99 a pound.

I do not check whether or not the butcher's regular rate for such steaks is 12.99 a pound.

I simply say well if the merchant is offering it for this amount, then I think that's a good price and I'd like to accept his offer.

All this other absolute NONSENSE, is simply that. The purchaser is not responsible for knowing the offering firm's business.

And the internet is just like any other form of publication. All this nonsense is complete insanity.

Like nobody gives a S insanity.

Now if the "publication" were made in error, this once again has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with me.

I'm simply going onto a public medium, seeing an offer of sale, and accepting the offer.

I , nor are thousands of other prospective purchasers, am not responsible for handling or being even the slightest bit interested in how the offer came to be or even the validity of the offer.

We have no control over how fares or rates are published and let's be completely fair. Anyone who has ever spent more than 10 minutes looking into this knows how things are manipulated from their end.

Seems to me to be nothing more than a GIGANTIC BOY crying Wolf ...... in sheep's clothing...... falling asleep because they're bored to death.... starring Zack, Ted and that kid from Rosewood, or Buschwood, or some type of prep school .

I think every air company has different phone support. And if u didn't recieve help from one it doesn't mean that u willn't recieve it from another.
