What are the best B/F seats on a ual 789
With regard to United Customer Appreciation email comps...Do you still pick the cash over the miles/% discount?
I always take the cash credit. There are circumstances where the % might be useful but not enough for me.
was debating the 20% off due to some long trips coming up but your past comments of take the money stuck in my head. On this trip last night from SFO i was also offered $500 to downgrade. I would normally jump on it but the lengthy delays at SFO made it a no go for my other half. BTW...let us know if you want to have a meetup in HNL on one of your trips out here. Thanks again for your tips!
Hi WA, just a quick question, if I post this in the forum I know I will get jumped on for asking it, but could not find answer. If I purchase miles from UA, I know they will add to my total FF points, but will they also post towards my elite status? I will be short 2000 miles end of year for 1k again, could do a MR but would be easier if miles purchased counted instead of MR.
Ok, thanks for that info. I thought you could just go in and buy miles did not know you had to book a flight, will take care of this. So for about 2000 miles I guess I am looking at around $200.00 based on 10cents per mile or perhaps a little more. If that is the case I could just do a mileage run for about the same amount of money, with a same day turn. ie SEA LAX SEA
That's about the price point you'll be at. If you can easily get the miles flying instead and have the spare time no issues there.
You can buy miles without the booking but it is more expensive and PQMs usually aren't available.
Thanks again for your information, think I will just do a day return MR.
I just found a new (for me) wrinkle on IN award space today. About 23 hours and 35 minutes prior to departure IN gets set equal to F for 2-class flights. On 3-class ON get set equal to F, but IN remains at 0 (or whatever it was) - it does not get set equal to J. I was going to put this on MilePoint, but I couldn't find an existing thread on the topic of award space release. Do you know of one? Many thanks, Dave
That is domestic IN award space
Dunno of any existing threads but not too surprising given the way they open inventory up.
Seth, regarding using mileage for UC membership you wrote : "I honestly think that in this case they've restored the option but not bothered to update the website." Well, this would be wonderful, but how would one find out/act on it? Just keep calling in and hope you get a clued-in agent? Thanks!
It is definitely possible at least for some members. I don't know if that is GS only or others, too. Call and ask is all I can say.
hey seth, I love your blog and how useful your tools are! I use it every day!
I just wanted to ask you since you're super tech-savvy whether you could check out my blog and tell me if it needed any improvements. I mainly do award travel bookings and Randy just made me a forum on Concourse Z.
but my main website is
I just went to your web site to calculate how many miles I'll earn, and I don't see the calculator anymore...have you moved it? I hope you haven't discontinued it, it's been a HUGE help to me! Let me know!
It is still there, but a bit harder to get to. I'm working on the nav stuff with the new layout but all the old tools are still there. You should be able to find the calculators in the "Other Tools" section: http://www.wandr.me/Home.aspx/References.
Thanks...I found it...it looks different than before. Not sure if you're in the process of changing it or if this is the new way to use it. FWIW, I liked the old version as it allowed you to add multiple legs and enter your status. I'm not complaining, just providing feedback.
Love your site, thanks for all you do!
Ahh...looks like there is an error in the advanced/*A calculator so it isn't loading. I'll get that fixed straight away.
Is there any difference between
Wandering Aramean, if you have time, can you please take a look at my question here
Sure has been nice to banter with you in the contest thread. Great minds think alike!
...but I'm told that fools never differ. <frown>
HEY! Thanks for the award checker on OK! I may or may not have used it for a J award :D
So glad that it worked out for you. Have a great trip!
Me too :D The DL agent was likewise surprise to find OK availability (which was fairy abundant for the short flight)... Certainly opened more options than the good ol' AF/KL combo :)
You mention that you give away for free your travel products ... can you direct me to a sight with some links so that i can check them out for personal use ... thanks!
I see that LY (El-Al) and RJ (Royal Jordanian) are not on your reward list ... perhaps that's why no one ever talks about how to see what oneworld Awards are availble on them
Just a quick update here...LY is now included in the award list. Let me know if you run into troubles with it.
