For the second consecutive year, SkyTeam was named the 2006 Best Airline Alliance by Global Traveler Magazine readers. Those voting cited the addition of Aeroflot and pending addition of China Southern Airlines to the alliance as key factors in their voting. SkyTeam offers its approximately 373 million annual passengers a worldwide system of nearly 15,000 daily flights with its 10 member airlines.

As of April 1, Royal Jordanian, Japan Airlines and Malev Hungarian Airlines will offer oneworld services and benefits in the biggest expansion of oneworld since it’s launch eight years ago. Five other members of the JAL Group will join alongside Japan Airlines on the same day as affiliates: JALways, Japan Asia Airways, JAL Express, J-AIR and Japan Transocean Air. This will allow more than 90,000 members of Royal Jordanian’s Royal Plus, more than 19.5 million members of JAL Mileage Bank and 75,000 members of Malev’s Duna Club to earn and redeem mileage awards on oneworld carriers. Three other airlines will join oneworld in 2007: Dragonair, LAN Argentina and LAN Ecuador.
