Change to Points Advance?  


There have been no formal announcements, but there are reports that Marriott has changed its policy on Points Advance.  It used to be that one could make a Points Advance booking even when the member had sufficient points in his account to cover the booking (useful if you have a trip planned for later and want to lock in a reservation for then but want to keep the points to use on trips to be taken in the interim).

Supposedly some folks have now been refused a Points Advance booking if they have sufficient points in their account to pay for the reservation when made.  I don't know if this was just a glitch, or if Marriott changed its policy without making an announcement. 

Any clarification from the Bonvoy Lurkers?
