Recently spent a weekend here in a Centennial Suite and heard they will be doing some refurbishment works starting end of the year (or early next year). Can't wait to see the finished results!

Good news - look forward to that, too!

Currently here. Did not get the mock up room. Was assigned the current King C.Suite. Was hoping I could try out the new layout but room was not available. From chats with the staff, appears the owner has not make up their mind (might not go ahead) and this is taking longer than expected.

I emailed Conrad in advance for my request to get the new centennial suite. To be honest you're not missing out much.

The new decorations are nice, with USB ports in both the living room and one on each side of the bed but they seem to be cranky and kept stop working. Same for some of the electrical outlets throughout the room.

The new TV supports VGA input but that was unavailable as no external ports are to be found. EL manager told me the room has yet to be finalised and therefore some things are missing. But since the new TV sports cast screen, it made things easier.

The small vanity mirror in the toilet is gone and lots of "handle bars" to hang towels are gone too. Plus point will be the new shower and temperature knob.

Asked for Laurent Perrier and got this. Lounge staff repeated my order "Glass of Laurent Perrier, certainly."

They got me the Perrier. Still waiting for Laurent.

Well they got it right tonight. Laurent arrived a day late apparently. And the spread looks good. Enough for a light dinner.

Nice glass of Perrier. So clear 😀 Glad to hear that you eventually got to drink your LP.

Discover that they offer free drinks from 1730 to 2000 only.
That certainly wasn't true when I was here last. Is it new?

Also, though the welcome letter always said breakfast in
the executive lounge, one could always go downstairs
to Oscar's - but that option seems to be no more. Any
other experiences?
I got a second opinion, and the
nice concierge said Oscar's was still available but they're
not emphasizing that.

Yeah read from FT that alcoholic drinks are only available during the official cocktail hours. And alcoholic drinks will be chargeable after 2000hrs.

As for breakfast, I'm not so sure. Honestly I've never paid attention to the welcome letters as I don't always receive them. I kinda just assume I can go to Oscar's for breakfast.

See above - I just got clarification that for EL-eligible guests the
old rule still applies - EL, Oscar's, or at the pool level (except, as
tomorrow, when it's been prereserved for an event).

Oscar's is so much better than the lounge for breakfast. It was like night and day when we were there.

I don't know if this is predictive of a trend, but

on the left, Conrad bear 2015; on the right, Conrad bear 2016

March 2016, it was still the brown bear.
May 2016 and June 2016, I got the modernized bear on the left. Different colours though.
