The cartel decides when you fly where you fly from and the major perhaps only objective is fleeced passengers sitting on 120% full flights. This works best by forcing everything through hubs and wasting millions of hours a year with unnecessary connections in far flung places. It is also a gift to those who wish us ill. If you’ve travelled through an overjammed hub at peak times ordained by the cartel, you can see all the corner cutting to move the lines. Flying from one of the dwindling number of secondary airports, security tends to be much more thorough.
The country could use a strong safety regulator but has the totally corrupted FAA and the meekest agency of government the TSA which takes its orders from the cartel-its master- and is scared stiff of them.

In 1988, a small number of airlines kept most UK residents grounded with sky high fares and few choices, sparking a campaign called "Let the People Fly." One of the great things that happened in the British Isles was the breaking up of that cartel and the rise of a competitive airline industry that drove fares to where they are now" prices regularly $25, $50, just flew for $12. Meanwhile, incredibly, in the United States we have gone in the direct opposite direction-allowing for four carteliers to control 80% of the market. Now that they have been or surely will be found guilty of collusion and price fixing, where is the political will to smash this cartel and allow millions who can't now take to the skies of their own country? The silence of the media is so blatant and shows the power of the internet to control and spood feed information so that in many ways the nation is less informed today than in the days when newsprint and faxes ruled.

Glory be to a corrupt government that allowed the Virgin-Alaska merger and with it any memory of transcon competition. Now, as seats are restricted to a bare minimum on routes where a free market would compel thousands more, these two routes are among the 10 most profitable in the world.

A nation held captive by the aircartel in every imaginable sense.
Nice job by safety regulators as FAs are forced into carnival barking
Always nice on 6AM and red eye flights to be jarred awake by these announcements pushing cards that have been so dramatically devalued.

Despite the total media blackout, there’s no doubt airfare searches must be way down as Americans discover that because of collusion and price fixing, fares set in stone at absurd inflated levels, there’s no use looking for low airfares. In some limited markets where spirit and frontier fly it is not as obscene but price fixing means the majors are charging the same prices all days of weeks all hours of the day. And with the cartel cozier than ever fares look to be nosebleed going into the Fall and Winter. And even Spirit and Frontier have been given loads of collusion buffer space to jack up their prices on their Sorry offerings.

Corporate media totally coddling Wall Streets air cartel. According to the Milwaukee Business Journal the airports have a, get this, excess gate problem. No the nation has a aircartel problem. Mke has dozens of empty gates-a recent trip through revealed you could drive a tank through there and not hit a soul.

Oil my tail-they destroyed their own business on Wall Streets orders. And notice not a peep ever out of the media left, right, or center about the stench of modern day air travel.

Notice the announcement of this by the VP of "Inflight Services", every bit as perverse as the "Friendly Skies." Title should be VP, Destruction, Inflight Services.
Total indictment of safety regulators
Total indictment of consumer regulators (many once a year flyers will sign up for these worthless cards)
total indictment of UA's disrespect for passengers, even the highest spenders
total indictment of UA's disregard for its employees
As the values of the cards, like air travel itself, has plummeted, the aerial hard sell becomes more vital.

It is greed greed greed
Not fuel fuel fuel
Delta just signaling out loud to its co-colluders that Fall 18 will usher in the most obvious price fixing and route collusion since “deregulation”

The Dark Age of US aviation ushered in by the lying whoppers that mergers would be great for customers. Even the Washington Post had to take its head out of the sand as millions of Americans return from competitive Europe to corrupt America. Not only are fares already MUCH lower before the soon to arrive all out price fixing in the US, service is being ADDED to secondary and tertiary airports. America’s cartel is choking the life out of hundreds of US city’s.

And United and Delta are announcing their seat discipline, aka price fixing and collusion in broad daylight.

What is the cost to small business and non hub city’s to being held hostage by a vicious cartel. Here’s Evansville begging the cartel to throw it a lifeline-incredible how undemocratic the nation is with a world class corrupted political system. What would the financial benefit be if pax could reach the northeast (in 2018!)

Anyone who doubts the total seizure by big money of old and new media should read this piece of balderdash. In a summer where folks are paying $600-800 all over the place for short flights in the US and Europeans, Japanese and South Africans are paying less than $100 and in some cases $12 for theirs, this staggering piece of pure propaganda that truly would put a smile on the face of Stalin etc. if you were teaching a course on ethics and journalism (and dissembling) you could center half the semester on this jem

A thunderous ovation from Wall Street as the “competition” curtain drops with United’s announcement that it will be the industry leader in price fixing and will quarterback the staggering carfelcollusion that is destroying choice, allowing carteliers to extort huge airfares, and is choking off hundreds of American communities. A once great democracy that turns its aerial mass transit into the hands of stock “analysts” @ UBS and JP Morgan sullies the notion of a free country. And yes this grand larceny was all launched in the Obama Administration with the allowance of corrupt mergers.
