The cartel decides when you fly where you fly from and the major perhaps only objective is fleeced passengers sitting on 120% full flights. This works best by forcing everything through hubs and wasting millions of hours a year with unnecessary connections in far flung places. It is also a gift to those who wish us ill. If you’ve travelled through an overjammed hub at peak times ordained by the cartel, you can see all the corner cutting to move the lines. Flying from one of the dwindling number of secondary airports, security tends to be much more thorough.
The country could use a strong safety regulator but has the totally corrupted FAA and the meekest agency of government the TSA which takes its orders from the cartel-its master- and is scared stiff of them.

Now that they have been or surely will be found guilty of collusion and price fixing, where is the political will to smash this cartel and allow millions who can't now take to the skies of their own country? The silence of the media is so blatant and shows the power of the internet to control and spood feed information so that in many ways the nation is less informed today than in the days when newsprint and faxes ruled.
Glory be to a corrupt government that allowed the Virgin-Alaska merger and with it any memory of transcon competition. Now, as seats are restricted to a bare minimum on routes where a free market would compel thousands more, these two routes are among the 10 most profitable in the world.

Despite the total media blackout, there’s no doubt airfare searches must be way down as Americans discover that because of collusion and price fixing, fares set in stone at absurd inflated levels, there’s no use looking for low airfares. In some limited markets where spirit and frontier fly it is not as obscene but price fixing means the majors are charging the same prices all days of weeks all hours of the day. And with the cartel cozier than ever fares look to be nosebleed going into the Fall and Winter. And even Spirit and Frontier have been given loads of collusion buffer space to jack up their prices on their Sorry offerings.

The Dark Age of US aviation ushered in by the lying whoppers that mergers would be great for customers. Even the Washington Post had to take its head out of the sand as millions of Americans return from competitive Europe to corrupt America. Not only are fares already MUCH lower before the soon to arrive all out price fixing in the US, service is being ADDED to secondary and tertiary airports. And United and Delta are announcing their seat discipline, aka price fixing and collusion in broad daylight.

In a summer where folks are paying $600-800 all over the place for short flights in the US and Europeans, Japanese and South Africans are paying less than $100 and in some cases $12 for theirs, this staggering piece of pure propaganda that truly would put a smile on the face of Stalin etc. if you were teaching a course on ethics and journalism (and dissembling) you could center half the semester on this jem
A thunderous ovation from Wall Street as the “competition” curtain drops with United’s announcement that it will be the industry leader in price fixing and will quarterback the staggering carfelcollusion that is destroying choice, allowing carteliers to extort huge airfares, and is choking off hundreds of American communities.
