I need a help ... I am flying on Turkish airline next 3 days, from Vienna to Jakarta, via Istanbul. I plan to purchase 4 bottles of perfumes in Vienna duty free. Would get seized in Istanbul, before my next flight. It's my first time flying with Turkish. Thanks

Just leave the duty free purchased in Vienna in the sealed clear bag with receipt stapled to it and you should be fine.

Duty-Free
All liquid commodities purchased from Duty-Free stores must be carried in special clear bags, sealed and with their receipts.

Please do not open the sealed bags until you reach your final destination. Otherwise, the contents of the bags may be confiscated at the Security Check Points.

If you have a connection flight within the European Community or United States, it is not permitted to carry any previously purchased duty-free products (over 100ml) as hand luggage even in sealed bags.[/qupte]

Hi. I have two questions.

First, we are flying United first class from SFO-FRA. From there (since it is an award ticket), we can either fly FRA-IST-MXP in TK business, or FRA-ZUR-MXP in LX economy. They both arrive in Milan around the same time--the difference is either 3 more hours flying (in business) versus 3 more hours at the airport and flying economy. Which would you recommend?

Second will we get lounge access in FRA or ZUR since we are connecting to economy flights (if we take that option)? Thank you very much!

The TK product will be noticeably better but I'd keep trying to find the nonstop option (to MXP or LIN) if at all possible.

Nope, unless you have Star Alliance Gold status (i.e. UA Gold or higher).

ETA: Actually, you might get LH Arrivals Lounge access in FRA if you clear through baggage claim. I think UA F gets that. But it is landside so you'd have to go back through security at some point. And nothing in ZRH.

Thanks Seth. That's disappointing about the lounge in FRA. I do have two business lounge passes from my M&M card which I've never needed--guess I can finally use them.

Welcome. Sort of depends on your travels. As a biz traveler, do you book your own travel or does someone else do that for you. Reason I ask is that there are a lot of booking apps and if you don’t book, would not want to waste your time suggesting them.

i do find that with airlines and hotels adding much more function (gate locations, departure delays, etc.) I really have been able to reduce the number of apps I actually use.

Have a great day and for what it's worth ... behind this post is a guy that loves what he does for frequent flyers, so contact me anytime.
