[Sticky] ExpertFlyer - Information and Updates
As of today, Delta has requested that we no longer offer to you any information on ExpertFlyer pertaining to Delta. Since our inception almost 10 years ago we have accessed Delta information through a GDS where they publish information for the benefit of various travel providers. We have always done this with the full knowledge and tacit approval of Delta. However, there now appears to be a change of thinking at Delta where this is no longer the case. As a result, we will no longer display Delta information in any of our Tools, including Flight Availability, Upgrades, Seat Maps, Fare Information, Flights Status, Flight Details, and Flight Timetables. All Alerts of all types for Delta will be set to Expired as to not count against your active alert limit.
To be clear, this action is not unique to ExpertFlyer. Delta has recently been removing their data from many websites, both booking and non-booking, in an attempt to force as many travelers as possible to only use delta.com and their apps for Delta information. In our many conversations with Delta it was made clear to us that their new policy is that any service or website that is not explicitly authorized to show Delta data will be forced to stop, especially any that screen scrape data from Delta.com or any Delta partner or agency website.
Our many attempts to forge a new agreement for the display of this information on ExpertFlyer with Delta have been rejected. We believe, and have explained to them, that ExpertFlyer brought value to Delta's best customers and by extension to Delta itself. We hope in the future Delta will come to see the net value that ExpertFlyer gives to them as you have already discovered. Should you wish to express your thoughts on this matter to Delta, you can reach customer support here:
You may also send a copy of any feedback you send to ExpertFlyer at and we can pass it along to our contacts at Delta.
On a positive note, we will be announcing the addition of a major new airline for Awards & Upgrade searching and alerting in the very near future. We will make the announcement at the time new airline award data has been added.
As always, thank you for your continued support.

Delta continues to proudly spread "enhancements" to other websites as well.
As part of our continued partnership with American Airlines, we are pleased to announce that as of today ExpertFlyer now supports full US Airways Award & Upgrade searching and alerting. The addition of awards and upgrades from US Airways operated flights will complement the existing American Airlines operated award/upgrade data currently available to subscribers of ExpertFlyer. In addition Flight Alerts can now be created for award and upgrade inventory for US Airways operated flights.
The newly supported classes are:
O - First - Award/Upgrades, also complimentary Preferred upgrades into First
I - Business - Award/Miles Upgrade
J - Business - Upgrades into Business using Certificate upgrades for ALL applicable routes (not just PHL-TLV)
X - Economy – Award
This information is now available via the Award & Upgrade search tool.
As per American management:
“We are pleased that customers who choose to fly US Airways will now have the same service from ExpertFlyer that they have had for American Airlines flights,” said Cory Garner, American’s managing director – distribution. “This agreement provides another step toward a more seamless customer experience during the integration of our two airlines.”
We hope you enjoy the new addition to ExpertFlyer.

UA/Star Airline Awards
We are happy to announce that ExpertFlyer again supports UA Award searching and alerting. Also additional Star Alliance airlines have been added and now all Star carriers are supported for award searching. The award searches for the new airlines will return a Yes/No availability answer to the Quantity requested in the search.
[*]For UA, only the O,I,X award classes are supported for searching and alerting. No other award or upgrade classes are available.
[*]At this time there is no Star Alliance award search, each airline would be selected individually.
As always, the full list of supported Award & Upgrade airlines/classes for searching and alerting is available here: http://www.expertflyer.com/sessionlessClassList.do
If you encounter any issues or have questions about specific searches, please email us directly at with the details about the search and results.

DL Flight Data Restored
We're happy to announce that as of today the previously missing DL data has been restored to ExpertFlyer. The only exception is DL Upgrade class inventory that requires GDS access, which Delta is still not allowing us to use.
However regular fare class inventory/availability/alerting and all the other searches are available again for DL. If you encounter any issues please email us directly at
As of yesterday, for flights from Jan 11 onward, AA has made changes to how they code their US Domestic First Class cabin on 2-cabin flights. While still marketed as "First", internally the cabin is being treated as a Business class cabin. As such the fare, upgrade and award classes for 2-cabin US domestic flights have changed for flights starting Jan 11:
Paid Class Changes
F -> J
A -> I
P -> D
Upgrade Class Changes
X -> R (as before, not viewable on ExpertFlyer)
A -> C
Award Class Changes
Z -> U
What this means for ExpertFlyer
If you have a Flight Alert for a class code for the First cabin on 2-cabin US Domestic flight then your Flight Alert needs to be updated. To do so:
- Login to your ExpertFlyer account
- Go to the View Saved Alerts page
- In the Flight Alerts section, delete the existing Flight Alert
- Create a new Flight Alert from either the Flight Availability or Award & Upgrade results pages or the Create New Flight Alert page.
We are happy to announce that ExpertFlyer now has added the following airlines for Award & Upgrade searching:
As always, the full list of supported airlines and classes for Award & Upgrade searching can be found here: http://www.expertflyer.com/sessionlessClassList.do
We are happy to announce that we have added 4 new Points of Sale for Flight Availability class code data:
That is in addition to the UK and USA points of sale that we previously supported.
Also as before you can set a default POS from the Preferences tab on the My Account page (on the full website).
As part of this update we now have the ability to add additional points of sale to ExpertFlyer in the future. We have created a survey to collect feedback as to which countries we should add next: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MGQP9VL
New Alert Type - Flight Schedule Alerts
We are happy to announce our 4th alert type on ExpertFlyer - Flight Schedule Alerts
Flight Schedule Alerts will monitor for changes in the published city pair or time of departure/arrival of a flight.
You can set the sensitivity of the alert to only let you know when the scheduled time of the flight has changed by at least 5/15/30 minutes or 1/2 hours:
You can create Flight Schedule Alerts in 3 places:
[*]Flight Details results page
[*]Flight Timetables results page
[*]The Create New Flight Schedule Alert page (linked to from the left side menu)
Now you won't be caught by surprise by flight number or time changes, while also being able to take advantage of significant airline schedule changes to your flight.
