Gary Leff, who writes View From the Wing at FlyerTalk, recently made the big time when the New York Times featured him in an article entitled, “Blogs About Business Travel Begin to Feel the Power.” You can read the article yourself at http://insideflyerus.wpengine.com/link/?17 — but let’s just say that we aren’t surprised that frequent flyer bloggers are gaining power and we’re all to proud to say that many of them are readers of InsideFlyer.

Another reader of InsideFlyer hit the big time when ace business travel reporter for Forbes, Barney Gimbel, followed Dean Burri around on one of his work-related mileage runs. Our favorite line from the article is “Shadowing Burri in an airport is like following a Porsche around in a Toyota Corolla. Though he’s 6-foot-5 and 340 pounds, he has the agility of a left tackle. When I ask how he always manages to be first in line for everything, he looks at me quizzically. Clearly this is not a skill that can be explained to mere travel “enthusiasts” like myself.” Affectionately known as cigarman on FlyerTalk, Dean provided the reporter with more than a few memories and tips on travel:
