Limited only by the duration of this promotion in terms of the number of free nights you can potentially receive with this promotion by Choice Hotels, you can earn up to 8,000 Choice Privileges frequent guest loyalty program points — enough to redeem for a gift card worth $50.00 which can be used at select retail outlets — after each second qualifying stay through Thursday, August 18, 2016; and once obtained, the gift card must be used by Friday, September 30, 2016.
Retail outlets for which you may receive your choice of a physical plastic or digital gift card include Applebee’s Grill and Bar; Amazon; Chili’s and Nike as four of 12 examples in the United States; and Esso, Lowe’s and Best Buy as three examples amongst nine retail outlets in Canada. The redemption rate of Choice Privileges points for gift cards are typically 16,000 points; but the rate has been discounted by half to 8,000 points for gift cards at select retailers specifically for this promotion.
If you are not interested in a gift card, you have the option to redeem those 8,000 points for a free night at greater than 1,500 participating hotel properties; although many require more for a free night if you want to get a head start on saving up your points.
Stay Twice and Earn a Gift Card Worth $50.00 With Choice Privileges
You must sign up and register for this promotion prior to your arrival at the hotel property at which you plan to stay in order to participate in this promotion; and you must book your reservation at a qualifying rate through one of the following official channels:
- The official Internet web site of Choice Hotels
- The Choice Hotels mobile software application program for your portable electronic device, or
- Via telephone at 800.4CHOICE
Registration is currently open — but only to you if you maintain an address in the United States and its territories and Canada.
Save Up to 20 Percent With Advance Purchase Rates
If you book early at participating hotel or resort properties, you can save up to 20 percent on room rates — with a minimum discount of at least 15 percent — but the reservation must be booked through the official Internet web site of Choice Hotels using your Choice Privileges frequent guest loyalty program account number and must be made at least 7, 14, 21 or 30 days in advance, which will vary based on the hotel property for which the reservation is being made.
Be aware that you cannot change or cancel your reservation once it is booked; and the discounted rate cannot be refunded once it is paid. Your credit card will be charged for the total reservation amount within 48 hours of booking your reservation. Rooms at this discount are limited; and this offer is not available to groups nor can it be combined with any other discount.

Regardless of how many times you check in or check out of a hotel property, it is still considered as only one stay. You must provide your member number when you check in at the hotel property; and you must set your earning preference to Choice Privileges points in your account — and not for airline frequent flier loyalty program miles or Amtrak Guest Rewards points — in order to participate in this promotion and receive your gift card.
Note that the following rates are not eligible for earning Choice Privileges frequent guest loyalty program points for rooms:
- Booked at rates less than $40.00 per night
- Which are complimentary or free of charge
- Paid for as part of a convention or meeting
- Booked through a travel agent or third party Internet retailer as part of wholesale rates paid in advance, wholesale packages or senior tours
Trips booked at a vacation rental property currently do not qualify for this promotion.
You can book your stays as a corporate traveler through your corporate booking system to qualify — but stays booked with the SEGEN rate code do not qualify for bonus points during this promotion.

Summary
The number of participating retailers for this promotion is limited; and you only have up to four months maximum to use the gift cards you earn.
Depending on your circumstances, you might be better off using the batches of 8,000 points you earn towards other options — such as redemptions for award room nights for future stays at Choice Hotels properties; but keep in mind that your points will expire within 18 months unless you have at least one qualifying activity in your account to keep your points from expiring.
