You can earn 250 free miles — plus earn up to 100,000 bonus miles — with the Privilege Club frequent flier loyalty program of Qatar Airways by participating in the Globetrotter campaign, which is now in effect through March of 2017 and consists of four broad themes. Simply travel to a destination within each theme during the specific offer period of each theme, and you will earn bonus Qmiles. The more destinations to which you fly as a passenger in each theme, the more bonus Qmiles you will earn.
This campaign is open to all main members of the Privilege Club frequent flier loyalty program — family members are not eligible to participate — and the Globetrotter campaign is valid only on flights marketed and operated by Qatar Airways to any of the theme destinations. Flights should either transit via — or originate from — Doha to be eligible for this promotion. Travel on partner airlines or airlines which are members of the oneworld alliance will not be considered for bonus Qmiles and special travel badges during the Globetrotter campaign.
Earn 250 Qmiles as a Registration Bonus
You are required to log in to your account and register in order to become eligible for the Qatar Airways Globetrotter campaign; and registration is now currently open. Once you have logged in, select My offers on your dashboard menu. You will receive 250 Qmiles simply for registering for this promotion.
The one-time registration bonus of 250 Qmiles will be credited to your account at the conclusion of each theme.
For best results, please register at a minimum of 24 hours prior to travel.

Travel Badges
In addition to the bonus Qmiles you will have earned, you will be awarded a special “travel badge” for participating in a particular theme at the end of the offer period for each theme when you have at least one qualifying travel from Doha to a destination within a theme; and you will also be rewarded based on the number of “travel badges” you will have earned by the end of the Qatar Airways Globetrotter campaign in March 2017.

Additional Bonus Qmiles for Participants of Globetrotter 2015
Members who have participated in the Globetrotter 2015 promotion will receive additional bonus Qmiles for each badge earned during the Globetrotter 2016 campaign. Members who have earned one or two badges can earn 5,000 Qmiles more per badge earned in Globetrotter 2016; while members who have earned three or four badges can earn 10,000 Qmiles more per badge earned in Globetrotter 2016.

Bonus Qmiles will be credited for the flight between Doha and theme destination — regardless of the origin of the journey.
Select Terms and Conditions
Bonus Qmiles will be credited per sector for outbound journey transiting via — or originating from — Doha to any theme destination, provided your original booking is on Qatar Airways. A return trip is not required, as bonus Qmiles will be credited only for the outbound journey and not for the return journey. Qmiles will be credited automatically soon after the eligible sector is flown. Provided each of your journeys transits via or originates from Doha to the two eligible destinations in the theme, you would earn bonus Qmiles for both journeys.
For participating in a theme, you will earn only one special travel badge at the end of that theme. One special travel badge is awarded per theme — regardless of how many destinations within a theme to which you travel. However, the bonus Qmiles are awarded for each eligible flight to the theme destination.
Award tickets to destinations across the four themes are not eligible for bonus Qmiles and special travel badges. Only revenue — or paid — tickets to theme destinations are eligible, provided that you register for the Globetrotter campaign and travel to at least one of the destinations in each theme during the specific offer period of each theme. “Open jaw” revenue tickets are eligible as well.
Qatar Airways flights between the following routes are excluded from the Globetrotter campaign:

Summary
Travel badges seem to be a way to engage frequent fliers. Air Canada has offered a similar but somewhat more complex promotion in the past, with the 2016 version set to launch on Monday, May 16, 2016.
If you are a frequent traveler of Qatar Airways, you should consider participating in this promotion — and unlike the Globetrotter promotion in 2015, there is no overlap in dates amongst the four themes.
