93 Airport Lounges You Didn’t Know You Could Access!

Traveling during the holidays is stressful. Long lines, more luggage, stressed airline employees. But there may be a perk you have that you didn’t know you did. If you have certain credit cards, you can access over 93 airport lounges during your trip! Some of these lounges just came online – like the Delta Sky Club at SFO (above).

What does a lounge get you?

  • Free Drinks (not usually good stuff, but mixable liquors and mass market beer)
  • A quiet place to relax during a layover (no loud announcements and usually better chances of finding a comfy chair)
  • Some snacks (Don’t expect much, though US carriers are investing in better food options)
  • Rebooking assistance when something goes wrong (at airline-run lounges)
  • (Usually) decent Wi-Fi
  • Business center and printing facilities
  • Occasionally newspapers and magazines

If you have the personal or business version of the American Express Platinum Card or the Citi Prestige Card, you can enroll in Priority Pass (you have to do this in advance for AMEX, though the version of membership only gives you access – $27 per guest – Citi is automatically enrolled and gives you access plus two guests).

Both cards also give you lounge access to a number of other lounges:

  • AMEX Platinum cards allow you access to Centurion Lounges (in Dallas, San Francisco, Las Vegas, New York – La Guardia, Miami and Seattle)
  • Amex Platinum cards give you access to Delta Skyclubs when flying Delta
  • Citi Prestige cards give you and two companions access to American Admirals Clubs when you are flying American

So this is great on paper, but how does that stack up when you travel? Is there a lounge you can access in your terminal?

Aside from Priority Pass’s own site, Delta and American’s sites, there is also an app called LoungeBuddy that will tell you your lounge possibilities based on your ticket, class of service, status and credit card ownership.

Conclusion

As you travel for the holidays, remember to check whether your credit card gives you access to over 93 lounges in major US hubs. The business or personal AMEX Platinum and the Citi Prestige card both can give you peace of mind on a misconnected flight or a comfortable place to stop on a long layover.

I’ll have to admit, I even found a few lounges I didn’t know about before, and I hope you did too. Have any favorites? Comment below!

The Centurion Lounges are worth their weight in annual fees. DFW has a great shower, decent food (although very beige in color) and relaxing. LAS isn’t bad, fir the 10 minutes I had to spare. LGA is next on my list and hopefully SEA in June.

Yes! The DFW Lounge is great, though I’ve also thought the food is incredibly beige #texas – LGA is quite nice and I like SFO and MIA probably the most. Haven’t been to SEA but Scott seemed to enjoy it!
