At the top of the Choice Hotels International portfolio is an upscale group of independent properties known as the Ascend Hotel Collection. Now, the Bolling Wilson Hotel in Wytheville, Virginia has become the latest property to join the group.

The historic boutique hotel offers 30 guest rooms on three floors, a restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating and a rooftop venue and event space known as “The Perch”.

The hotel is named after the town’s most celebrated former resident, First Lady Edith Bolling Wilson, who was married to President Woodrow Wilson. The hotel is said to reflect the personality of Bolling Wilson including “her love of canaries, her love of orchids, her love of bourbon and the love she shared with Woodrow Wilson.”
