Island Air’s Frequent Flyers

Hawaii’s Island Air is relaunching its frequent flyer program. Formerly known as Cloud 9, the program is now called Island Miles and offers pre-boarding privileges for all members among other benefits.

Island Miles members can earn 500 miles for every Island Air segment flown in Hawaii and can claim a free one-way ticket at 4,500 miles. There are no blackout dates for award flights but the award seats are based on availability. Island Air members can book award tickets for someone else using their miles, but they cannot share their miles or transfer their miles to another Island Miles account. Flight awards are valid for one year following the date of redemption.

If you do not have enough miles for a roundtrip, you can pay for one segment with your miles and the other with cash. The program will also periodically offer special promotions for Island Miles members only. If you do not earn miles in the program at least once during the first 12 months after enrollment, Island Air reserves the right to remove or deactivate your account. An account maybe be deemed inactive if a member fails to earn any miles for two consecutive years and any accrued miles will be forfeited.

If you were previously an Island Air Cloud 9 member, your miles have been automatically transferred to your Island Miles account and your log-in and password remain the same.

INSIDE|Point: At 500 miles per flight, members will need to fly 18 one-way or nine roundtrip flights to redeem for a free roundtrip ticket. This is the same accrual and redemption amounts as the former Cloud 9 program.
