Bankwest is offering a Qantas transaction account that earns Qantas Frequent Flyer points for everyday banking. The account allows you to earn five Qantas points per eligible purchase with no spending limits. It includes most purchases but excludes BPAY or payments made using “the pay-anyone function” and domestic ATM withdrawals.

The account also earns 0.4 points per day per $100 in the account, which is 12 points per month for every $100 in the account. As long as you deposit at least $2,000 in the account per month, there are no account fees, and there are also no fees for overseas ATM transactions. Members who keep a monthly balance of at least $3,000 and have roughly 80 transactions per month could earn almost 10,000 Qantas points year, making a roundtrip flight from Melbourne to Sydney (16,000 points) attainable in under two years.
