Marriott Rewards members can now get up to a 25 percent points savings for Seasonal Awards offered during certain times of the year. You’ll find the Seasonal Awards when searching with the box for “Use Rewards points” checked. On the results page, click on “View Rates” on the hotel you’re interested in to see if the hotel is offering Seasonal Awards. You can also access a list of the hotels offering Seasonal Awards at http://www.insideflyer.com/link/?7848 listed by state or country. For example, The Algonquin Hotel, Autograph Collection, in New York City is offering Seasonal Awards Jan. 1 through Feb. 28, 2013 at a savings of 10,000 points per night at 30,000 points instead of the usual 40,000 points. A stay at Grand Cayman Resort Sept. 23 through Nov. 23, 2013 is 26,250 per night, a savings of 8,750 points from the usual 35,000 points per night.
Bottom line: As Loyalty Traveler on BoardingArea.com points out, “Combining the fifth night free discount and a seasonal award looks like the real redemption value bargain of this new Marriott Rewards points stay option.”
