The earning rate for spending at Hilton is increasing on the Hilton HHonors Surpass card. As of Nov. 1, cardholders earn 12 points per $1 spent at Hilton Hotels (compared to the previous rate of nine points per $1 spent). Other earn rates are not changing and cardholders will continue to earn six points per $1 spent at supermarkets, drugstores, gas stations, wireless, home telephone, cable and satellite services and three points per $1 on all other purchases. The card has a $75 annual fee and comes with Gold status the first year and offers Diamond status if you spend $40,000 per year and Gold if you spend $20,000 per year after the first year.
