Lufthansa Miles and More Changes

Lufthansa Miles and More Changes

Lufthansa Miles and More is making a few changes to the program that will go into effect later this year. Effective Sept. 1, 2012, Senator status will require 100,000 status miles for Germans and non-Germans alike. The current policy is that residents of Germany must earn 130,000 status miles. Only first and business class flights (not economy class flights) will count towards HON Circle status. There is a new discounted business fare class, P, that will earn 500 miles on flights within Germany, 750 miles within Europe and 100 percent to intercontinental destinations. Discounted Z class will now earn 1,000 miles within Germany (from 1,500), 1,250 within Europe (from 2,000) and 150 percent on intercontinental flights (from 200 percent). Discounted Z and P business class tickets will not be eligible for first class upgrades, effective Sept. 1.

For all members, one-way flight awards will be available for 50 percent of the roundtrip amounts with all Miles & More airline partners. Furthermore, one-way flight awards will be available online at www.miles-and-more.com. Visit http://insideflyerus.wpengine.com/link/?6423 to learn more.
