Canada's Airfare Disclosure Regs

Canada's Airfare Disclosure Regs

Following the lead of the U.S. and some European countries, Canada is looking to require domestic airlines to disclose full fares to consumers when flying that include the taxes and fees by the end of 2012. They are also examining whether to require ads that promote free trips through loyalty programs to also prominently disclose the taxes, fees and surcharges. The agency will have the ability to enforce penalties of up to $25,000 for each infraction.
