Through March 15, 2012, Hyatt Gold Passport members who purchase miles for their own account will get 10 to 30 percent more points. If you purchase 1,000 to 9,000 points, you’ll get 10 percent; 10,000 to 29,000, 20 percent and if you purchase 30,000 to 40,000 points, you’ll get a 30 percent bonus. There is normally a calendar year limit of 40,000 purchased points, but through this promotion, members can purchase up to 52,000 points in 2012.

Bottom line: At the 10 percent bonus, your cost per 1,000 points goes from the usual $24 to $21.82 per 1,000; at 20 percent, your cost per 1,000 points is $20 and at 30 percent, your cost per 1,000 points is $18.46.
