Star Alliance member airline Spanair is replacing the Spanair Plus loyalty program with SpanairStar. The new program promises greater flexibility and last seat availability on Spanair flights with its new revenue-based model. Members earn points on Spanair based on the ticket price and for flights on Star Alliance airlines, members will earn points based on the miles flown and ticket class. When redeeming points, members will receive a one euro discount for every 100 points. For Star Alliance flights, awards are zone-based and the number of points required for an award is based on the flight distance and ticket class.
