United Continental Holdings has introduced the details of the 2012 MileagePlus loyalty program with most of the changes revolving around the elite program. Some of the changes that members will see include four elite tiers instead of three, along with the invitation-only Global Service elite level. Some elite flight and fare class bonuses will change and there will be some changes regarding upgrades. One of the biggest changes is for Silver Premier members who will not only lose one free checked bag (they will only be able to check in one) but they will also lose access to Economy Plus seating at booking–they will have access 24 hours prior to the flight.
