As of last month, SkyTeam Elite and Elite Plus frequent flyers will receive the same extra baggage allowance when flying on any SkyTeam carrier in any cabin class. Elite members can bring one extra piece of baggage plus an extra 10kg and Elite Plus members can bring one extra piece and receive an additional 20kg. Before the systemwide baggage policy was implemented, member airlines only allowed extra baggage for Elite and Elite Plus members of their respective FFP, but the benefit did not apply to mixed itineraries or other members’ flights. Now, the policy is consistent across all 14 SkyTeam member airlines.
